Sarah wrote the story and thought at some point Elain and Lucien would be a perfect match.

She purposely paired him up with an Archeron sister because it was the only way to keep him relevant to Feyre’s story and explore his background.

So why Elain and not Nesta - as she intended to?

Why Elain, when Sarah had the chance - perfectly layed out in front of her - to write the messiest broken bond story between Lucien, Nesta and Cassian? When she saw the fire between them, yet eventually thought Lucien and Nesta wouldn’t work out?

Why, when she even used Eris instead to recreate that kind of tension for Nessian?

Why Eris, not Lucien?

Why Elain, not Nesta?

I’m telling you: because she never wanted that lame ass, soul-crushing broken bond storyline for any of her favourites!! Not for Lucien, not for Nesta, and not for Elain.

And I’m so glad. ❤️‍🩹 Friendly reminder this series is advertised as "fun and joyful".

If the Azriel bonus chapter is not to be considered canon or have any crumbs in regards to shipping (mind you, SJM has said it does) that means that it cannot be said that Elain and Azriel have mutual attraction.

We cannot just disregard the last part of the bonus chapter if we’re considering the first part. It must be considered as a whole. And if we look at it from start to finish, it started with Azriel feeling shameful about his feelings with Elain and ended with him feeling a spark at the thought of Gwyn’s smile.

So what are they insecure about?

They’ve realized that they misinterpreted the books. And due to the lack of ability to admit when they’re wrong, they’ve sank into denial. Letting go of their contextually proven wrong theories isn’t something they can do. You see this behavior in cults like heavens gate, the Manson family, branch davidians, and maga.

They are so fully indoctrinated, that they must compulsively keep knocking on the door. Just like a solar salesperson (an American issue). Knock knock = using the gwynriel hastag.
