On the 27th of April, nine years ago, GIRLS' GENERATION released their third Japanese single, MR. TAXI / Run Devil Run.

A double a-side single, it consists of their first ever original Japanese song, MR. TAXI, and the Japanese version of Run Devil Run, previously released as their first Japanese digital single.

The single was the group's first to sell 100.000 physical copies within it's first week of release! Physical sales were certified gold and digital downloads platinum.

It peaked on the second spot of Japan's Oricon Singles charts as well as the fifth spot on the RIAJ Digital Track charts. MR. TAXI also charted in Taiwan on the third spot of their music charts.
