So I noticed something on one of my copious rewatches of The Fall Guy that made me genuinely hysterical with laughter so naturally I had to make a shitty little meme video about it

Major spoilers for the end of Resident Evil Requiem because if I could draw I’d make a little comic of it but I cannot so I just have to rotate this in my mind and be sad

I was casually talking with a friend on discord about the ending of Requiem and they mentioned that they spent 20 minutes overthinking the choice of whether to release or destroy Elpis. Naturally, I made a silly little joke about how Capcom should’ve made an alternate bad ending where Grace takes so long to decide what to do that Leon simply dies from the T virus while she’s making the choice. Unfortunately, this silly little haha thought then sat in my brain for too long and now I’m thinking about an alternate ending where Grace releases Elpis and turns around all excited that she figured it out and now she can save Leon just for Leon to already be dead.

No one speak to me, I am wallowing in a pit of sadness of my own creation 🥲

An AU where Akechi never died and had been quietly recovering from his injuries, untouched by Maruki's reality. Instead of undoing his death, Maruki had unintentionally created an entirely separate Akechi. Now, the two have to work together to return to their reality.

The problem is that they fucking hate each other.

Hadestown is the best take on the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, because all over the internet I see people say, "You're not supposed to think of how he could have succeeded! That misses the total point of the story. Everyone was doomed and there was no way anything could have worked out alright. If you're imagining a scenario that didn't end in tragedy, you're just an arrogant fool. Just shut up and be sad about it"

But Hadestown says, "please please please think of how it could have been. Orpheus would have never looked back if he just had hope, please have hope, he would have wanted us to have hope. If you don't walk out of this theater thinking of how it could have been, we have failed you. go have hope, go see the world in the way it could be, so help us"
