who the fuck are these people sending Bloo disturbing messages about how he's fat and whatnot (he isn't) to the point where he keeps saying how he's gonna stop eating for the day??
I don't even have a guess as to who they might be, what nationality or what part of the world they're from, since them sending the same message in Chinese and Korean doesn't mean much, it could just be google translate.
whatever the case, it's sick and twisted. that is not the way to get your idol's attention.
I also don't want to speculate on Bloo's mental health too much, seeing as he could be just dialing it up for instagram, but if that's anything to go off of (which it isn't, necessarily), he's shown his mental instability in the past (excessive drinking, abuse of medication and of course, the obsessive weigh ins), so, as a fan, why the FUCK would you be helping worsen all of these issues??? if these people are even fans, shouldn't they care about their idol's wellbeing?
and I'm the last person to imply you should be telling a grown adult what to do with themselves and their body. but by god this is just nasty.
furthermore, people don't seem to realize that this has an effect on his fans too. I mentioned earlier that I have an eating disorder, and let me tell you, seeing his weigh ins was already bad enough, but seeing him get these messages and say things like "no eating today" is incredibly triggering. this reflects poorly on everyone, be it Bloo himself or his fans.
I do believe part of the responsibility is with him, he's an adult and a public figure, he should know better than to share this kind of content, but there's also the cultural context to be considered, as dieting is very normalized in South Korea.
I don't have a mic drop point to make here, I'm just upset that I might have to unfollow one of my favorite artists because this is becoming to heavy for me and my own mental health. shit sucks. do better.
