it’s something about the aggressively obvious 2020s makeup too on everyone in every movie no matter what the time period is. it’s the 19th century they do not have highlight!!!!

look at meg march in 1994 vs 2019. they both look great! however! emma watson is wearing very obvious lipstick, mascara, concealer under eyes heavy foundation etc etc. you can see this at a glance. i literally in making this comparison had to google if this was a promotional image that she took or actually a still from the movie because her makeup just looks like normal 2019 makeup that a girl from 2019 would wear!!! (not to mention her costume. different post.) then look at trini alvarado on the other left. obviously she’s wearing tons of makeup because she’s in a movie and she has tons of lights on her all the time but it doesn’t look she is!! you can see circles under her eyes!! she doesn’t have The Shine to her face that emma watson does. she looks so much more believable as a girl from the 1860s not because she’s a perfect representation but simply because she does not Obviously Have On Modern Makeup

This exquisite costume was first seen in the 1984 movie 𝑰𝒏𝒅𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒂 𝑱𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑻𝒆𝒎𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒐𝒇 𝑫𝒐𝒐𝒎, where it was worn by Zalim Singh, the Maharaja of Pankot, played by Raj Singh.   The costume was recycled in the 1993 adaptation of 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕 𝑮𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒏, on “The Little Maharaja,” played by an extra, though it is shown briefly and is difficult to see.   This costume was part of the @cosproplondonuk “Fashion In Film” Exhibit that toured the United States in 2007. Visitors to the exhibit were able to see the detailing on the costume up close, and the information at the exhibit confirmed that the costume was indeed reused for 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒆𝒄𝒓𝒆𝒕 𝑮𝒂𝒓𝒅𝒆𝒏.   What do you think of this dazzling costume? #leverage#op’s tags are about the incredible scene from season 1#where Hardison is in the car with the bomb attached and Eliot has to take the steps to defuse#and his voice cracks ❤️#and his hand trembles ❤️#but by god he’s gonna do it to save Hardison ❤️#we have been talking about this scene for years#but we’re never gonna fucking stop talking about it#that is love that is family that is bare faced fear for the life of one of the people you have come to love and need to protect#in this very short time yall have been a crew#eliot calm in a crisis spencer so scared in that moment that hardison is going to be blown up in front of his eyes#that it’ll be his fault for not quite defusing the bomb fast enough or correctly#knowing hardison can’t see him so he won’t see the shake of his hand or the fear in his eyes#but not able to stop it from showing just a bit in his voice#we’re not joking anymore we’re always joking and fucking around even in moments of danger#but this is different#eliot knows what a bomb does to a man and it’s not a threat he can stop by hitting it until it’s no longer a threat#or by putting his body in between the threat and his loved ones#it’s such a good fucking scene
