Those posts that glorify "having taste in the age of AI" are the same as those that promote using AI "smartly" in that they blame the working population for not being... unique enough for management? For not having jobs that involve uniqueness, even.
Software engineers are a prime example here. What did you want? Coding in cursive? Is the concept of an industry standard a weakness and a fault, then?
It's so icky when labor productivity becomes the scale for morality and righteousness.
SO MANY CONGRATS FOR THE 300!!!!!! SO SO DESERVED GIRL ITS AMAZING🎉🎉🎉🎉 Like keep the amazing work, everytime you post is a highlight of the day
I came upon another wrestler movie and now I can't stop thinking about Wrestler!Dunk. Specially the idea of him and reader arguing over it (bcs its dangerous, or he's being reckless or fighting too much bcs money is tight) before a very big event but her still shows up because she loves him and wants to support him in what he does
Maybe even Dunk pulling him into a big kiss before or after the fight bcs he is so so happy she's there
everyone noticed how quiet dunk had been for the last half hour.
it wasn’t his usual shyness—he’d spent enough time in the locker room to get used to the teasing comments and snide remarks. story often bled outside of the ring, and grudges forged faster than friendships. dunk was not one of those men. he was honest and kind, always keeping the hard glare in his gaze for those who cheered to see. to let the worlds collide was a dangerous game, and there were far too many cautionary tales being forged still.
dunk laced his boots, focusing on how tight the tube squeezed his calf. his heart whispered to him, telling him to rip the damn thing off and go home. he’d been wrong to storm off, leaving you before you could fix what was breaking.
his head told him to not be so soft. he had to work. the audience expected a show with him on the card, and he couldn’t abandon them. not when they paid good money, not when they sat in those plastic seats and lit up at the first glimpse of his face.
no matter the injury, the dizziness and blood, he had an obligation.
“come on, duncan,” raymun nodded to the door. “i can hear them shouting. you got three minutes.”
dunk spared him a glance. he hadn’t said a word, not even to the men he called his friends. it was too much to talk. if he said a word, he’d feel conflicted. whatever sound came from his mouth should’ve been directed at you. every syllable should form an apology, a desire to make up and find peace.
in a place like this, peace was rarely ever found.
dunk straightened up and grabbed his robe. he slipped the satin blue on, giving him some modesty. he, like most other wrestlers, wore only his tight trunks and boots. the screams always made his ears ring when he took off his robe, and he knew tonight would be no different.
“you’re going to miss your—“
raymun blinked, and a gush of wind nearly blew him back. dunk was gone, the door closed quicker than it opened.
“…what’s his problem?” someone from the bench asked.
raymun looked over, and without a proper answer to give, he simply snapped back. “don’t worry about it. what’s yours?”
the man’s face twisted, but he didn’t bother to press on.
dunk kept his head low as he walked through the short tunnel. the crowd grew louder, and his heart thrummed faster. he met with security and forced his head up, just so he could be prepared to be yanked down. the fans were wild, invading. he couldn’t risk himself no matter what management told him.
at the cue, he began his walk to the ring. the crowd erupted, and the hands that reached for him shot forward. there weren’t any rails to keep them at bay. there was only he, the people, and the single gentleman he’d been given to ensure his safe passage.
safety meant not getting knocked down. or being stabbed or punched. being pulled around like a rag doll was not of much interest.
he was nearly at the ring when his eye caught sight of something. his gaze diverted from the announcer, like a pull he couldn’t fight. it was a force he could never explain that always gravitated towards you.
you, standing among the craze of women and children and drunken men. he choked, nearly stumbling back before security pushed him forward. but he was twice his size and overtaken by a hopeless ache. there you stood close enough to the front. perfectly in view from the ring, he assumed, where he could glance and spot you right away.
dunk took a half-step back and reached over. others grabbed at him, hooking to his arm in hopes of taking his attention.
he made it to you, and in a rush of joy, he pulled you in. you met him halfway, kissing him quickly in the heat of desperate fans and loud cries.
dunk was gone, ripping away before security shoved him. he made it to the ring a handful of seconds later and jumped over the ropes.
a newfound happiness coursed through his veins, and at the sight of his opponent, he could almost taste victory. dunk didn’t know why you’d come, or how you got in—did it matter? yes. and no.
he looked back at the crowd, spotting you immediately. the guilt from before washed away, replaced by a love that made his knees weak.
it felt like an eternity, but as soon as the match ended, he would be jumping over the ropes and taking himself straight to you. there was so much to say, and so much to make up for, and he wanted to start as soon as he possibly could.
first off, thank you so much!! wrestler!dunk has been going thru it, love to see it. this is short and sweet :,) i hope you enjoy!!

I support the "fiction isn't real so nothing matters" mindset but tbf at a certain point it can tip over into "the curtains are just blue" territory
like yes actually there is a conversation to be had about how a characters actions are framed and how they thematically fit with the rest of the story and it can in fact reflect the author's beliefs. some authors are even trying to make a point
not all depiction is glorification but sometimes it is and you need to be able to tell the difference. not because your immortal soul will be tainted by reading The Bad One, but because you need to have reading comprehension skills
And don't forget to stay up til 3 am every night doing nothing productive for no reason every day for a month
add yours!

I have utmost respect for writers because I cannot. Whenever I try to write something it sounds like minecraft subtitles.
Finding out about things like artfight or fanfiction only later in life feels like discovering an entirely new part of reality. WHAT have I been missing. I clearly haven't been using the internet to its fullest potential.
