I‘m really happy for Tim, he deserves this Golden Globe. But is he happy either? I don‘t think so, the pic sums it all up.
I think he was happy to have won because he received recognition from his peers, his hard work finally paid off. He deserves it. But things have changed; he's now 30, and for some years now he hasn't been that "incredible human being with such a rich and vibrant internal life that he wears so close to the surface."
This man is hiding behind a suit of armor..
How can it be that, upon receiving these two prestigious awards for the first time in his career, he doesn't show more joy or happiness ? Why doesn't a smile appear on his face ? Why his smile doesn’t reach his eyes ? Why doesn't being among his peers, who appreciate and praise him, make him any happier ?
Because perhaps, instead of being a moment of joy and celebration, this event, like last week's, was primarily a work session with milestones to meet. And he certainly kept in mind that these victories would be associated for posterity not with pure moments of euphoria, but with his "partner," who is now mentioned in every one of his speeches and whom he tried to kiss whenever a photographer was nearby.
The price to pay is high and will become even higher in the coming months... But the choices he made are his own. The trap has closed around him, and only courage and fearlessness can get him out of it, if he even wants to.
