Head perking upwards at how easily this girl guessed it right, Ancha truly felt that he had been right in seeking her guidance. It wasn’t like he was outright trying to hide his origin, but he never outright stated it either, and people just never made such a connection. He also knew why. It simply didn’t happen. No matter how many encyclopedias he had looked in, he could not find anything preceding his own situation. Either this girl was very smart or she knew something. He decided on the former as she claimed to have never met someone like him before.
“Hmm, I don’t think humans are capable of forming constellations though,” he pointed out the fault in her suggestion, collecting his legs before him in his position seated on the grass and folding his arms around his knees. “But I will remember. I will let you know once I find them. I’m sure they’re somewhere nearby…” His gaze then removed itself from the girl and went back up on the sky, searching. Eyes quickly locking onto Polaris, he navigated the sky from there on.
Running a finger from the star towards South, he quickly found what he was searching for. “I don’t know anything about underwater culture either, but if you look over there – Autumn is just the right time of the year.” He motioned for her to join him on the hill, and proceeded to point out the stars of the constellation, tracing their path across the sky. “Albali,” he began, pointing out the stars one by one, “Albulaan, Sadalsuud, Sadalmelik…” He then paused and switched his finger to point at himself. “Ancha.”
❝ I will have to correct you there, young one. A shimmering star who has spent eons in the galaxy such as yourself wouldn’t know, but humans are capable of many things... ❞ The tone of her voice is enthusiastic as she speaks. ❝ Things that exceed one’s imagination! Very fleeting, is it not? ❞
Kaoru pauses for a moment. ❝ Of course, they’re nearby. If you listen to your heartbeat and follow where it tells you to go, you will surely find the answer you are seeking for. ❞ It may sound like a scripted line, but it isn’t. Kaoru would never give someone as sincere as this stranger here fabricated advice.
❝ Ah, such beautiful names... ❞ She mutters, her gaze following where he is pointing to. She lets the breathtaking sight sink in — from where they were standing, it is almost as if she could touch the stars if she reached out her hands. This truly feels like some sort of paradise. ❝ Fitting for gems that light up the night sky. ❞
❝ Which one of these are you? Let me take a guess. The brightest one? ❞
