why you should stan ateez
Like, honestly, I know I’m kinda biased bc I literally love them, but ATEEZ are probably one of the most talented rookie groups out there right now.
-self-producing & self-writing: Hongjoong has been writing and producing songs for ATEEZ since pre-debut, we saw this in their KQ Fellaz series. Hongjoong is only 20 years old, and he’s already doing so much!
-their choreography is super syncronised and really advanced for a rookie group. I would honestly compare their syncronisation to almost being on the same level as Seventeen (who are obviously known for their insane sync abilities)
-the concepts are always so fresh and unique! I know at the moment we’ve only actually seen two MVs from ATEEZ (and the performance video for HALA HALA!) and we’re still waiting for their comeback next week, but we know the concept is going to be something Western/Cowboy inspired. Their debut was pirate themed. They just pick such interesting concepts and THEY. STICK. TO. THEM. Literally, their entire 1st mini album was centered around the pirate theme, it was all cohesive, and I imagine their comeback mini will be the same.
-They’re very active on sns! Especially YouTube, they update us with short videos all the time and they also had the KQ Fellaz series, so fans are able to get to know the members’ personalities really well (I’m mentioning this bc I know certain other rookie groups are having some drama rn because they’re never active on sns and as a result the fans are feeling disconnected from the members)
-Their music is really high quality. This isn’t just my own personal bias speaking, their music is just really well made and their vocals/raps are great. The only area I would critique them on is line distribution because certain members get literally 1 short line per song but I know they’re new and still figuring that stuff out so I’m not too worried about it
-AMAZING B-SIDES!!!1!! Honestly, if you haven’t listened to Stay and Twilight yet, then I don’t know what you’re doing with your life because those songs are amazing. Everyone loves Treasure, and I can see why bc it’s a bop, but their b-side tracks are really really good too!
-Visuals, left, right & center. I don’t think I really need to explain this, just search the ateez tag here or go to their instagram and you’ll see what I mean. They are all stunning.
-Album packaging~ This is a bit of an extra point bc I know not everyone physically collects albums or cares about album packaging etc. But I am one of the broke kpop fans who physically buys all of my bias groups’ albums, and ATEEZ’ packaging for Treasure Ep. 1 was a m a z i n g. It was so high-quality, especially since they’re from a small company, I didn’t expect that. The album came with lyric postcards, 3 photocards, stickers, and a ~t h i c c~ photobook. Plus the box itself was really beautiful and sleek. I just really loved their packaging tbh it was mature and simple but still super nice.
Basically, ATEEZ released Pirate King back in November and it was still number 10 in the Korean charts at the end of last week so…
2019 is going to be a great year for ATEEZ, I already know it. So if you want to be a part of something great, please stan these super talented boys.
