New Solar Tech Makes Desalinating Seawater Cheaper Than Producing Bottled Water

Engineering teams around the world have been attempting to develop new methods of seawater desalination.

Scientists in China have developed a more efficient form of solar desalination that uses 47.4% less energy than alternatives. After the first year of testing, the scientists believe that at scale it would be able to desalinate water more cheaply than producing bottled water.

The goal is now to scale the technology for use in coastal areas and islands experiencing water insecurity.

I'm not even kidding it's so clear that everyone sees black people and especially black women as some sort of alternate species. IMO, blurring the lines between “I’m defending them because they’re right” and “I’m defending them because you’re taking this too far” is step numero uno to cutting down the very existence of fair trial and democracy–even in places where saying that might seem a little dramatic.

there is really something so familiar to the trans experience in ralsei's resentment towards flowery. ralsei is trapped in the closet, unable to transition the way they want to, forced to be miserable—or so they want to believe. ralsei doesn't WANT to believe they can be happy. transitioning could literally cost them everything. and flowery's very existence forces them to question that. flowery has chosen to break the rules (transition) and is happier as a result. but he CAN do that! it's easy for him! he doesn't have to fulfill a prophecy to save the world! there is nothing worse for a trans person repressing their identity than seeing another trans person show off how EASY transition was for them and how HAPPY they are now.
