at the birmingham q+al show waiting for it to start and the crowd just did a spontaneous we will rock you stomp and clap,, great vibes
although I haven't been active on here in ages I just wanted to say that I still see my notes and it always brings a smile to my face when one of my posts starts picking up new notes
So I got into queen because of borhap, right? Three years ago I was sad that the ā39 scene was cut because I wanted to see Ben hardy shirtless. Nowadays Iām sad it was cut because it meant the official bohemian rhapsody music book doesnāt include sheet music for ā39 š
Growth š
Thatās a shame about the sheet music for ā39 not being in the songbookā¦though Iām sure you can find it online (maybe even for free if you dig a little)!
there's a website called queensongs.info, which is a great resource for tabs/chords/sheet music for queen (and related projects) songs. it might not always be 100% accurate as a lot of the content is fan transcribed rather than official but I've always found it very useful.
https://www.queensongs.info/instrumental-guides/queen/a-night-at-the-opera
^ this link will lead you to tabs, chords and sheet music for '39 (and all the other anato songs). I haven't personally tried reading the sheet music for '39 because I play from tabs/chords (and can't read sheet music too well anyways) but I hope it's good enough to be usable lol

Last Song:Ā Iām not going to cheat and play something specifically so I can write it hereā¦or am I? I am (truly) currently listening toĀ ā39, and Brian May is plaintively serenading me with his soft, sweet voice. Oh, Dr. Brian Harold May, my astrophysicist-rock guitar god boyfriend. *Le swoon*
Last Movie:Ā The Red Shoes, last night! I love it, Iāve seen it a million times.
Currently Reading:Ā Queen, by George Tremlett, and Queen in Cornwall, by Rupert White. I need to stop this picking up-and-putting down nonsense and finish them both, already.
Currently Watching:Ā The Expanse, just finished Season 5, I believe. Itās so good! Iām also watching The Twelve Kingdoms, but it periodically gets on my nerves and I have to stop for a bit. Also thinking of rewatching this last season of The Mandalorian. Baby Yoda (Grogu, I know)!!! Heās so cute.
Currently Craving:Ā Iām having coffee and itās still pretty early (9:37 a.m ā well it was when I started thisā¦.), so Iām not craving anything yet. Of course now Iāll start thinking about it⦠My last craving was for hamburgers. Mmmmm, hamburgers with all the fixings (except pickles). Yum! Before that it was California rolls. Sadly, I ordered them from our grocery store andā¦well, letās just say I wonāt do that again. ::cries:: Mmmm, California rolls⦠Before that it was garlic chicken. Yummmmmā¦Ā
AND!Ā I am craving new lipsticks like, I canāt even tell you. My 130+ piece collection is currently in my office at work, the place I havenāt been since lockdown began a year ago. I only recently started zoom meetings (I previously called in), and thatās been feeding my need for lip color.Ā I just ordered six or so Ā lipsticks online and I canāt wait till they arrive! Trying a couple of new colors, too, so Iām excited.Ā Mmmmmm, new lipsā¦
Okay, this is the hideous part about tag games, and where I usually completely fail. I am committed to doing better. So letās see⦠Hmm, a couple of people I would have tagged already have been, so⦠@hammer-2-fall, @jackolynsparrow, @ohmybribri, @melisa-may-taylor72, @iwilltrytobereasonable. Total Guitar Issue 341Ā - Red Special posterĀ
since it's halloween, here's a stereo pic I took at the diableries book launch exhibition last year. the skull guitar really is a thing of beauty, even more so up close
Star Fleet from Brian May (& Friends)ās little passion project, called Star Fleet Project, where he worked together with artists such as Eddie van Halen, Alan Gratzer, Phil Chen and Fred Mandel. For this specific track, Roger Taylor does some backing vocals.Ā
This side-project of Brian is so rarely talked about, so please have a listen ! And if you like Brianās more blues-esque stuff, I recommend looking into the other two tracks on this album: Let Me Out and Blues Breaker.
āI could have put away these tapes in a bottom drawer and kept them as a private record of one of the best experiences of my life. But the few people Iāve played them for have urged me to āpublishāā¦I havenāt messed one scrap with the tracking done on the day. The rest is simply mixed ānakedā.ā - Brian May
super off topic but since I have a decent following on here I figure chances are higher that someone will actually be able to help
basically, I was planning on taking german classes this year (which my uni offers for free). due to covid, however, the uniās not opening any of the language classes, as theyāre cutting down on in-person extracurriculars.
so I thought Iād ask if anyone on here knows of good online courses for german. Iām aware of rosetta stone but no one I know has tried it, so if anyone has feedback on that, Iād love to hear it. or if you know of any other courses, please let me know (can be paid/subscription based ones as long as theyāre not too expensive).
side note: Iām looking for intermediate(?) courses rather than complete beginnersā as Iāve done 6 years of german in high-school
