The psychological thriller of figuring out what you want and what you’re going to do about it
”there’s no glory in suffering” and “sometimes the effort is the point” are two ideas that co-exist but god damn if I can ever tell when’s the time for which
the number 1 rule of fanfic is have fun and be yourself. the number 2 rule is the average healthy adult male can lose roughly 2 liters of blood before dying.

shoutout to everyone who wants to infodump but cant string together coherent thoughts to form sentences and instead just look at you like this
When I was 12 years old my mother died. I was aching and tired with grief. I would walk alone to the church to lay flowers on her grave, and another mourner gave me some change to get the bus home.
When I was a teenager my drink was spiked while I felt safe in a bar with my friends. I hazily remember being given water and cold toast, and the barman called my dad to come get me.
When I was in my 20s I flew alone to Australia. I have a fear of flying, and it took so long to get there that I saw the same sunrise twice. A stranger held my hand through severe turbulance.
Yesterday my son was screaming in a busy shop. I couldn't get him to calm down. I just held tight to him and waited for it to pass. An old man touched my shoulder and told me I was doing a good job. I've added him to my list of unforgettable strangers.
"menstruation is punishment for original sin" is a fairly common doctrine (altho in my experience it's usually more implicit than just baldly stated like that)
anyway this implies that of all the animal kingdom, humans are not UNIQUE in sinning, but are joined by bats, the elephant shrew, and the spiny mouse species Acomys cahirinus. (according to my 5 seconds on wikipedia at least)
this mouse has committed crimes against god
girl im bored lets browse academic articles
Hot tip: if you want to see scientists being snarky and sardonic, type ‘Reply to’ into google scholar and make yourself some popcorn. You can add your field of interest to the search or narrow down the timeframe to make it more specific or recent.
holy smokes. dr scherz it’s an honor

Plurals:

:O
Having entered my 40s this still rings true. You get a far better grasp of yourself and will be less tolerating of bs because you simply don't have the time to waste on trifles.
