oh.. thinking about mildly intoxicated sirius getting a little too affectionate and kissing remus in front of everybody else without a second thought. it's only after he notices remus's ears turning bright red that he remembers they're not alone.

(sirius files that reaction away for future reference. if remus gets that flustered from one kiss... well. just another way to win their fights, huh?)

The thing about Danny is, he cannot separate love from pain. His parents love him, they love him so much they shoot at him with guns specially designed to kill him specifically. There's not a girl he loves that isn't mean to him, who doesn't want to kill some part of him for their own gain. His sister can't show him love without digging into his insecurities first. The city he fights to protect treats him like a criminal. Love is looking past the barrel of a gun and hoping the person on the other side will recognize you faster than they pull the trigger.

Say you break your ankle. You could know everything there is to know intellectually about the injury. Even with this vast knowledge, you will still experience physical pain.

Now take this logic and apply it to things like ADHD, autism, clinical depression, and other less visible/divergent disabilities. You cannot think your way out of feeling.

That is to say: you are not a bad, lazy, or selfish person for struggling, even if you know why you are struggling.
