In Social Media Era, a celebrity must know...

These years, many celebrities are involved in scandals. Internet era increase their exposure to public, which lead to both chances and challenges for them as almost everyone online can be reporters with their social media accounts.

In order to take advantage of the social media, those celebrities must be active to use it.

Here are some tips for them.

(1)      It is inevitable for celebrities to be spokesperson for some brands. But on social media platform, they should try to do commercial for those brands as less as possible. Their followers are willing to see some stories or some interesting things in the celebrities’ homepage rather than ads.

(2)      Try to interactive more with those super stars who has positive public impression. There is a saying that a person can be defined by watching his/her friends. If those friends are nice, generous people, then the person could not be a mean, bad one.  So more interacting with those people who have positive reputation is a great way to build the same reputation among followers.

(3)      Avoid speaking dirty word or responding those negative reply. If you are bite by a dog, will you bite back? Yes. This kind of action will do nothing but lead to bad impression of you among public. Try to avoid those negative reply or ask for advice from PR person.

(4)      Try to recommend some books, movies or places to travel for followers. Showing your healthy hobby, such as cooking, is also highly recommended. A person who loves life and develops a positive lifestyle is really a charming one in the modern life which almost all people are busy with their work.

(5)      Try to respond fan’s friendly reply or retweet their twitters once a month. Interactive with them. Social Media provides two-way communication. In social media, the halo around a super star decreases while dialogue between celebrity and fans increases. People likes those celebrities more like a close friend rather than a people far away from the stage under limelight.

(6)      Engaging in some interesting online event, such as ice bucket or black vs purple dress.  

(7)      Be humorous online. Everyone love Raymond.

(8)      When receiving some awards, please show thanks to fans and organization who offer you the honor, and show the public your confidence to be a better person and actor.

My Story With K701

If I have an easeful afternoon; if I have a cup of Ceylon; if I have a comfortable couch, I will take out the K701, plugging it into an amplifier, and mingle my flesh with the soft cotton, releasing myself into the music world.

Winter Has Come, and Spring is a Little Far Behind

It’s the end of November now. Although it is much warmer than the same period during last year, winter has come to Manhattan. To people like me, who live thousands miles away from home, and could be very emotional sometimes, winter is a season that can cause nostalgia heavily.

I still remember my anxiousness and depression during the first several days after I came here. I hadn’t figured out the differences between traveling and living in a foreign country until I began looking for an apartment with my two huge trunks. Also, language is a big problem. At the beginning, I would feel very nervous when I had to chat with people in English. And when people say “sorry” or “pardon” to ask for repeating, it would make my nervous even worse.

I even began asking myself “why I came here?” I just couldn’t find out the answer.

What cheered me up is an email from my professor – “Joy, your coming to New York to live and study is an amazing act of courage. I admire you for it, and I think you should be proud.”

After that, I began to pretend as a person full of courage.

Winter has come, and spring is a little far behind. Everything is waiting under earth for the opportunity to sprout.

Isn’t it a good thing to wait a little longer?

I will be there for you

I spent 6 months to watch the most precious ten years of six people and I was lost in reverie when I finished. During all the 10 years, all the people are grown-up and finally figure out who they are and what they want. Rachel left from the Central Park and said good bye to the princess time, finally became an independent career woman in the fashion circle. Monica became the chief cook in a great restaurant，Chandler left from the boring accounting data and find himself in advertising area, those two lovely person helped each other come over the unhappy childhood past and finally get married；Joey became a real actor actually a real star，the most touching part for him is the moment when he fall in love with Rachel，which tell us love can change the big boy to a real man; Ross always does well in his career, the most important thing he find out the that he finally understand nothing can separate him with his beloved Rachel, the girl he loves for 20 years.

The whole tenth season is in the atmosphere of memory. Monica and Chandler is going to move to suburb; Rachel is going to Paris; Phoebe gets married; Even the football table is no longer exists. Phoebe said at last that “I’m gonna miss these people, these characters……” Many fans share their favorite moment, the moment Chandler proposes to Monica, the man who is used to avoiding responsibility finally become responsible，Phoebe birth to her brother’s 3 children and have to say good bye to them，the wedding in the snow，endless break and reunion of Rachel and Ross.

It’s hard to believe Friends has such magic power that even in 2015 there are still many fans watch it around the world. Maybe it’s because the beauty of friendship has such much things in common regardless of national boundaries, nations, religions or ideologies.

A New World for Asian Movies:ASIA FILM SCREENING

Asia Film Screening Organizing Committee was found in New York,2015. The screening will be held annually. The whole screening has many activities, including screening some outstanding Asian movies, creating dialogue between Asian and American film makers, and conducting some workshops for students whose major and hoppy is film making.

2015 is seventieth anniversary of United Nations. Asia Film Screening born in this year expresses its mission, that is” Pursue peace and friendship; Focus on communication and corporation; Promote mutual prosperity”。

The First Asia Film Screening was held in 2015, co-organized by the Asian Film Screening Organizing Committee and the One Film Fund, and greatly supported by the Film Bureau of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television of China, the Motion Picture Association of America and the UNSRC Arts and Culture Appreciation Association.

The screening festival’s opening ceremony was held on November 7, at the United Nations headquarters in New York. Attendees include:  Li Liyan, consulate general of China in New York; William Feng, the general manager and chief representative of the China Office for the Motion Picture Association of America; Wang Yiyang, CEO of the One Film Fund; Guan Hu, Chinese Director; Liang Jing, Chinese actress.

In the film screening section, Go Away Mr. Tumor, nominated as a representative of Chinese movies for Best Foreign Language Film at the 88th Academy Awards in 2016, was shown at the opening ceremony.

Besides Go Away Mr. Tumor, other Asian films has been screened in Anthology Film Archive and SVA Theater. They are: Design of Death, Wolf Totem, Monster Hunt, The Taking of Tiger Mountain and Miss Granny.

New York Asia Film Screening will be held annually. With the mission of” Pursue peace and friendship; Focus on communication and corporation; Promote mutual prosperity”, the organizing committee will provide Film makers and movie goers a new multi-functional platform in which they can build conversation and corporation to exchange culture, improve arts and technology and introduce movie financial products or new outlets.

this article reminds me of the cinema AMC empire 25 at Time Square; it is the only one cinema in New York, which screens Chinese films.it is really a good strategy, both for AMC and this ASIA Film Screening, to introduce Chinese films to the US, and offer the opportunity for Chinese in the US to see Chinese local films oversea.

My Days also revolves around a teenage girl’s nostalgia of her carefree childhood, demonstrating her independent personality and attitude towards the big big world. Released in 2014, this MV was shot in a black-and-white retro style recording her hanging around activities by her won, which somewhat reveals her loneliness inside.

Chimes is Leah’s latest song released in May, 2015. With Leah growing up, we can see her singing changed from a mainstream crooning sound to a more psychedelic electro-rock style, which in many senses, captivates a growing number of fans. We can also see her music arrangement becomes more complicated and maturer.

Apparently she is a girl with an attitude. Whatever style she may follow in the future, I’m deeply convinced that she’s got an ever-promising career. (I’m such an avid fan!!!) Let’s look forward to her following development.

Wrap It Up, 2015

The Main Street of Roosevelt Island has been decorated with Christmas lights, which reminds me of the end of 2015. Time is flying. At the same moment last year, I was doing the same job in Cambodia, while as a sales man who was reporting his work to the boss. Just like old times, I will borrow three shifts to conclude my 2015.

 The first shift is the social role changing. I plunged into the embrace of Ivory Tower again. I do not know whether it is a good change for me or not. I have run out of my deposit to pay the tuition and rent, and returned the control of my finance to my parents again. Woo, it is not good. However, at least I do not have to cater for my stupid clients since 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and do not need to struggle for the missions impossible. Well, with this perspective, it sounds great. All I have to do is to finish my degree and enjoy my extra two-year student life. No wonder people call university the Ivory Tower. It is not because the university is perfect, but the real life sucks.

 The second shift is the living surrounding’s change. Although I have been to many countries for business, it is the first time I spend the whole stay at a foreign country. I really felt lost when I was first exposed to this unknown city and unknown country. But I overcame it. Hail to New York, for its comprehensiveness and diversity relief my tension of being a foreigner here. Except for food. I started to cook and learn some new recipe. Cooking is full of fun. Taking photos of my handmade dishes fills me with plenty of satisfaction. And to those friends who were bothered by my mid-night delicious photos on Facebook, I apologize, sincerely.

 The third shift is my attitude changing. For several years, I was like a vagabond, moving from city to city and country to country. It’s time to settle down. I do not mean vagrant life sucks, on the contrary, the previous unsettling life has broaden my eyes view and taught me many real life lessons. But I think I really need to focus on one cut point, then dive into a stable professional life, instead of floating above the society. So, I must change. Now, I have made up my mind to become a PR practitioner, because I love this job. I love communicating with different people. It feels like reading a different book everyday. People complete the society, and the society refines people. Just like that kind of feeling.

 Ok, enough bullshit. No time for over sentiment. 2016 awaits you and me. Are you ready for the New Year? Take a deep breath, and shout it out. Hell yeah!

Twitter, Shit Happens

Twitter is great! Twitter has more than 500 million users, out of which more than 302 million are active users. Being branded as the “SMS of the Internet,” Twitter is ranked as one of the ten-most-visited websites worldwide by Alexa's web traffic analysis. On March 31, 2014, Twitter announced there were 255 million monthly active users and 198 million mobile MAUs. In 2013, there were over 100 million users actively using Twitter daily and about 500 million Tweets every day, with about 29% of users checking Twitter multiple times a day.

 However, Twitter, We got a problem. Twitter’s leadership team has failed to form a consistency in policies making and leader nominating, which caused great trouble in the daily function of this company. Besides, the failure to clarify a long-term development strategy, to a large extend, undermines the confidence of the investors. Furthermore, the frequent power shifting also does damage to the cohesiveness of the internal work team.

 The lagging user growth is also troubling Twitter. For the first quarter of 2015, the total number of users logging in monthly was 316 million, up 15 percent. But the vast majority of the increase was derived from SMS Fast Followers, people who access Twitter content on mobile devices but do not have accounts on the service. Excluding SMS Fast Followers, Twitter grew its monthly active users by only two million on a quarterly basis.

 Another problem here is the mediocre revenue increase. Today, Twitter’s only revenue source is AD. And Twitter seems that it has not come up with new profitable business style. The investors have shown their disappointments about the slow growth of revenue. The disappointing revenue growth has made the investors lose confidence and patience about Twitter. It is also the culprit of the slide-down of the Twitter’s stock price.

 So, it’s time for Twitter to pull back its ambition and bulgy ego, and sit down to ponder about how to rebuild its reputation as a policy-consistent and profit-making company in order to regain the investors’ confidence. Maybe increasing the stock price to and strengthening the image of new CEO are the suggestions. Yes, I am just mumbling. Leave me alone.

A Beginner For Jim Beam

I am not a strong advocator of whisky, but I love bourbon, for its taste, color and culture. Bourbon is believed to origin from Kentucky, the United States. As one of American spirits’ symbols, bourbon bears strict production process. It must be produced in the United States, must be created with at least 51% corn, and aged in new oak barrels. This production process endows bourbon with a complicated aroma varying the way you sip it.

I do not have much budget for bourbon. The only bourbon I can afford is Jim Beam, an iconic but cheap American spirits. Jim Beam started in 1795, founded by Jacob Beam, at Frankfort, Kentucky. Every bottle of Jim Beam, according to its label, is “painstakingly aged for 4 years.” Jim Beam is not the ultimate choice of a frantic bourbon fan, but it still has the merits a good bourbon should have. It is aromatic; it is complicated; it is old aged and it is fickle. Those elements push me fall into love with Jim Beam.

As a beginner of bourbon, a snifter of neat Jim Beam is too strong for me. At the room temperature, a sip of Jim Beam is like a volcano eruption around my tongue. Straightforward and aggressive, the fierce interaction with alcohol distracts my taste buds from sensing its aroma. This experience is like an attracting lady punches at your nose while you are appreciating her S-shaped figure. With a rearranged face, I prefer to try a milder way to explore Jim Beam’s inside secrets.

Enjoying the bourbon with a clean cute ice ball in your whisky glass is a good option for the beginner like me. The ice cold temperature and the melting distilled water lock the taste of alcohol into a slightly sensible range, and let inner scent to pervade. Roll the iced Jim Beam around your teeth and tongue, and the aroma of corn colored by oak wood will begin to unfurl its splendor. Then swallow the sip down, sense the fragrance still haunting in your mouth, and you will discover another layer of flavour ­­­­— the spice. The aroma of pepper, accompanied with vanilla, bounces around you gum and flirts with your taste buds. When they fade away, the fruity taste starts its monodrama. Say it lemon, say it plum. The fruity taste could be any fruit you like, if your imagination had permitted.

You Are Damned! Murderer!

One afternoon in July, Cecli laid down his robust body to enjoy a nap on the prairie of Hwange National Park in Zimbabwe. Peace suffused in air, he soon fell into sleep. His dream reminded him of the death of his brother in a battle of pride, his victory in the territory fight and his defeat by two young male lion. But all of those memories were fleeting clouds. After all, he survived. What really mattered to Cecli was that he already had made up a big family of six wives and a dozen of cubs.

 Breeze flirted with his black-fringed mane, Cecli was like a totem of Power and Pride on this grassland. However, danger was lurking around the bushes. A sharp arrow tore tranquil air apart with harsh noise. Cecli was awakened by stingy pain and found his body bleeding.

 Run! It was the first and only word generated by Cecli’s neuron. But where should him go? No Shelter, no friend and even no idea of what was happening, Cecil had no choice but running. He knew that he could not bring danger to his families. So he chose to escape out of his territory, out of control and out of chance.

 Arrows continuously hit Cecli’s muscles. Painful, scared and tired, Cecil exhausted his vigor and stopped at a withered tree. It had been nearly 40 hours since he was attacked in the dream. Cecil did not know where he had gone, and his bloody body could not sustain his weight any more. He crashed down and breathed greedily. Every breath he took into lung had the taste of his blood.

 Cecil realized his time is limited. He did not want to die here, for his pride of king did not allow him die without any fight-back, for his anger to despicable sneak attack, and for, most importantly, he still had a big family to support.

 The cold night projected its hopeless darkness to the grassland. Ducking his head into fore limbs, He laid down as he was going to take a nap. His distinguishing black-fringed mane congealed into a blood clot. No longer a king, He is waiting his final judgment.

 However, God spared no favor to Cecil. Three human-being-shaped creature stalked around. A dentist’s index finger was put on the trigger. Cecil smelled them and closed his eyes, just wanted to finfish nightmare sooner. The gunfire startled the quiet prairie, like a supernova busts its last light against the unfathomably dark universe.

  Cecil was skinned and decapitated. The murder is Walter Palmer, an American dentist and recreational game hunter from Minnesota.  This ridiculous outcome irritated the whole social media. And here is our voice: Mr. Palmer Walter, don’t say that "relied on the expertise of my local professional guides to ensure a legal hunt," and don’t say that "deeply regret that my pursuit of an activity I love and practice responsibly and legally resulted in the taking of this lion." Your excuse and regret are futile when you ask for forgiveness from Cecil’s skinned and decapitated corpse, from his endangered cubs and from the consciousness of humanity.

Running Abe

During the UNGA (United Nations General Assembly), a film of Abe Shinzo, the Japanese prime minister, running to Putin to shake hands has gone viral accidentally on the Internet.

“Wow, Abe’s smile is so sweet.”                

“Abe is really the shame of Japan.”

“What a lovely Akita!”

The criticisms from Japanese Netizens have overwhelmed in the comment sections of news websites. In fact, his action is totally understandable because he was late for the meeting. Although Abe’s running is out of polite concern, his move is inappropriate for a top leader. But why was he in such a hurry that he forgot his identity as the Japanese prime minister? What did he expect from Putin?

Troublesome Neighborhood Relations

China, Russia, South Korea and North Korea, these four countries are Japan’s neighbor. They are not kind: three of them, China, Russia and South Korea, are among the top ten military power in the world; three of them, China, Russia and North Korea, have a bundle of nuclear warheads; three of them, China, Russia and South Korea, have territorial disputes with Japan. What worse is that the rising tension, revolving around island disputes and historical issues, against China and South Korea has put Japan into a more dangerous geopolitical environment. Let alone North Korea, they want to nuke every ally of America.

The only hope is Russia. Abe’s government has been continuously releasing friendly signals, including increasing their investment in Russia, to alleviate the broken bilateral relationship since the end of the Cold War. By doing so, it could become possible to drag Russia back to the negotiation desk to solve the Four Northern Islands Issue. But all the efforts were neutralized by Japan’s sanctions put on Russia after its annexation of Crimea. Reluctant as Japan was, the relation with Russia went back to freezing point. Now, chance comes again. If I were Abe, I would have dashed to meet Putin, maybe faster than Bolt. So here, jogging is not a problem.

Outrageous Watcher

Dissatisfied with Abe’s kin interaction with Putin, the American government pointed out that it is not an appropriate time for Japan to start “normal cooperation” with Russia.

Recently, Russia’s aggressive military move in Syria has added more uncertainty to American-Russian relations, despite the fact that Obama and Putin cheered at the dinner table during the UNGA.

Whether the credibility of Abe’s government has been impaired or not within the White House is still unknown. Obviously, American government is unhappy now.

Running In the Future

On Sep. 17th, 2015, Japan’s upper house of Parliament passed the first major reinterpretation of the country’s pacifist constitution, which allows Japan to take war as a means of settling international disputes. This historic vote triggered a nation-wide, on a scale of one million people, protest in Japan.

“Japanese soldiers are ready to fight the first war since 1945,” The Times commented on this event.

However, this posture cannot help Abe solve the neighbor problems. Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs responded by titling this vote as “the revival of militarism.” South Korea, one of allies of America, also adopted a hostile attitude toward this change.

If Abe Shinzo’s government keeps its track on right-deviation, Abe will always be running internally and externally in the near future.

Long long time ago, at a day that cannot be tracked back, one of our human ancestors lipped out a sound recognizable for his buddies, so there started the social media. Okay, you may say that goes too far. Let’s drop the time pin at 1969, when CompuServe first connected to the web by dial-up, and here began the modern social media.

From voice to broadcast, letters to email, newspaper to television, the development of social media always keeps its pace tight with the evolution of communication technology. At first glance, the fickle essence of communication technology sometimes blurs our eyes to explore the regular pattern of the development of social media. However, looking back to those evolutions of social media, you will find following seven trends, which could tell you modern social media still proceed on their own way.

No.1 Breaking down of the tech threshold

In the late 70s, the newly invented BBS, or call it Bulletin Board System, only can be reached by stroking the keyboard to put in hunks of complex code. A rookie of programming? Don’t even think about it. While its successor, Forums, treated non-technical visitors better by design a user-friendly interface to log in. Today, forget about annoying coding, a phone number or an email address is enough for you to enjoy yourself within social media. Cool, isn’t it?

Sensitive and swift, the successful social media today must keep their content updated like traditional media every time. Live Journal, started in 1997, came up with the idea that social media, in order to thrive, need to update their content constantly. Recognizing the importance of timeliness, Twitter, Reddit and other similar socials has become the new source of news, which significantly challenges traditional news outlets.

No.5 Fragmentizing  and visualizing

Believe me or not, most people prefer short messages to long passages, pictures to letters. As we are all in the age of information explosion, people are facing tons of information far beyond their abilities to process. Under this circumstance, social media must condense their contents as much as possible to cater for interests of being efficient. So comes the downfall of traditional blog but the rise of Twitter, or call it micro-blog constraining its messages into 140 characters. Moreover, a picture can always convey more information than letters. At this point, the going viral of Instagram has proved that picture has power no less than letters. In fact, those popular social media now all combined pictures with some short words, perhaps their users tell them they like this way.

No.6 Integrating with other service

This trend may start at the WOW, World of Warcraft, an MMORPG( massively multiplayer online role-playing game ). WOW has attracted tremendous amounts of players who established many related forums and communities sites. All of those derivative social media were all integrated by their WOW account. Such success enlightened both social media and service providers. For instance, many electronic game companies allow their players to register with social media account like Facebook, Twitter or something like this. And social media themselves mingled together to share the common users. This kind of integration means that social media began to throw their users into a furnace to engender a more powerful and more connected user group, you can call it big user. If you have developed an app or a new social network website but worry about its users, please resort to Facebook or Twitter.

No.7 Staying with the Internet

It is the development of the Internet that has shaped social media today. It is true, don’t doubt it, because modern social media cannot function any more without the Internet.
