It’s always fascinating to watch the fallout when the creator of a near-universally adored piece of media is revealed to be a horrible person. Because all of a sudden, the internet is flooded with people who apparently always hated their work. And of course a lot of those people maybe did like that piece of media or had no strong feelings, but they also happen to have a pathological need to seem morally superior or to never ever be associated with anything remotely problematic. But there must also be a subset of people who HAVE always disliked their work and who have been bursting at the seams for years to say how they really feel, but who didn’t want to go against the grain or start any drama. For example, while Coraline had some compelling bits, I don’t think it was very well written—it remains the one and only book I have ever read that I think genuinely overused the word ”said”. But I wasn’t really going around sharing that opinion when the Good Omens fandom was at its peak! So whenever something big like that happens and there’s suddenly an onslaught of people going ”well I always hated it”, I just wish I could send them a poll where the two options are ”I actually did always hate it” and ”It’s just very important to me that I seem better or less problematic than other people” and have them answer honestly. I want the stats!
life is so hard when you love being competent and knowledgeable and helpful but you also love slacking off
I don’t know if anyone else had this experience, but early on in His Majesty’s Dragon, we find out that China has been breeding dragons for intelligence for thousands of years, and then two pages later we meet Volly.
…So I obviously put two and two together and spent the next few chapters genuinely believing that true draconic sapience had only been achieved by the Chinese.
MY FRIEND IS FINDING OUT THAT HES COLORBLIND AND WE’RE ALL HELPING HIM THROUGH IT LMAOOOOOO
UPDATE WE HAVE TWO COLORBLIND BITCHEZ IN THE SERVER
what the fuck is going on
On the last one Deuteranomaly and Protanomaly are identical though
What I’m getting from this is that there are a lot more colorblind people in the world than even colorblind people know.
Share to save [shame] a friend
WAIT! DEUTERANOMALY AND PROTANOMALY IS THE SAME! IT’S THE FUCKING SAME! WHAT ARE YOU GUYS TALKING ABOUT?????
The deuteranomaly and protanomaly ones are very similar but they are different. The purple section ranges out a little farther to the right in the protanomaly one. Not seeing the difference between might not indicate color blindness but rather difficulty with color differentiation.
The green is also slightly more vivid in the protanomaly strip than it is in the deuteranomaly one.
@skeletal-spire-man-aka-overfit
um
these are not the same
They’re… They’re identical…
What’s… What’s the difference-?
welp. one of the moots has tritanomaly colour blindness!
I’m not colourblind, but like, on the last one, deuteranomaly and protanomaly are identical to eachother- so are protanopia and deuteranopia-
They aren’t different?
I feel like I should add this

That quiz is diabolical, but aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
I am not gonna lie but the reds and red-adjacents were a real bitch in the last ten or so rounds.
And then I tried Hard Mode, where the colored squares have black bars between them so it’s harder to directly compare them and you choose one square out of nine.
No thoughts, only legs
So what the hell are these movies about
I’m like 97% sure that next season will be Francesca’s season. They’ve spent two seasons setting up her story, and I don’t see them squandering that momentum. Especially with Michaela leaving after promising to stay, which is such fertile ground for early season conflict. If they did do Eloise next, they would either have to bring Masali Baduza back and not really… do anything with Michaela and Francesca’s relationship, which would be wild considering where they left off, or exclude her/give her a really minor role, which seems like a shitty way to treat an actor who’s already been playing a major role and who will play an even bigger role in a future season.
Also, Eloise might have softened up towards the end of season 4, but I just don’t think she’s ready yet.
Freedom.
Rost spent his entire life following tribal law to the letter, not even breaking it to avenge his own mate and daughter. He parted ways with his own soul rather than part ways with tradition.
…until the final moments of his life, when he broke taboo just so he could to speak to Aloy one last time.
Stepping out for a bit of air.

The next in my Leyendecker series is of course MY SON. I imagine Emily or Sipho just off screen.

Without naming your job, tell me something you say over and over again at work.
"I can note your interest in that feature for future development."
Local man chooses to stand by principles, much to his chagrin.
Is one of my favorite character types. Yes, he is going to be idealistic, and righteous, and virtuous and it's going to make things so much harder for him and he knows this dang well and he hates it.
This mistake keeps making me grind my teeth due to tumblr’s current love of knights and medieval culture, so:
‘Hither’ isn't a fancy way of saying ‘here’, it's a direction word. It means ‘to here’, or ‘towards here’. So ‘Come hither’ is ‘come to here’. You wouldn't say that there is a bottle of wine hither if there was a bottle of wine next to you. A bottle of wine might be coming hither if someone was bringing it to you, however.
The same is true of ‘thither’ (‘to there’) and ‘whither’ (‘to where’).
The opposite, from here, there, and where, being hence, thence, and whence!
