“We’re married.” - Rhea
Sometimes he forgot he was no longer a young boy, frolicking amongst the reeds in the nile delta- a young boy whose only duty was to grow strong; to live long enough to fufill his mother’s wishes and take his place upon the throne.
What little it mattered for such a boy to lose himself in his cups, to dance and drink and be one with the revelry of his people… it mattered a great deal more for their Leader.
The God of Kings, the Celestial falcon, He who oversaw the realm of the living… the lordly man who weilded such titles slumbered in the early morning sunlight, still abed far later then was his custom after just such a night.
Golden skin glimmered as the light fell atop it, rousing him slowly, sweetly. A pleasent humm resonated deep within him, as if some unknown lack, some gaping maw within had finally been filled. It felt like nothing so much as returning to nest, a sense of unification, of belonging he hadn’t realised had been missing.
With a smile, he turned into the warmth at his side and wrapped his arms around it, face burrowing into thick, sweet smelling, sun-warmed hair.
Wait.
Eyes opening, he rolled back and propped himself up on one elbow, unsure how to process just what it was he was seeing.
“Lady Rhea?”
