Hey friends. As some of you may know, this past weekend I was contracted for a spot at Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps. This post may be a bit past due, but I wanted to get the word out there.

If you have known me for the past few years, you'd know that I am very passionate about the marching arts, and that's it's been a dream of mine to go on tour as a member of a world class DCI corps. For those who are unfamiliar, drum corps an activity where young adults like me perform a marching program similar to that of a traditional marching band at organized events. We learn and rehearse the show during late May into June, then engage in a two month long tour in which our ensemble travels around the country performing for thousands of fans.

Though I am excited to be able to go on tour with this ensemble, drum corps is a summer-long commitment, and it does not come cheap. As a participating member, I am obligated to pay a tall fee of over $3000, which accounts for housing, food, transportation, and other services provided by the drum corps. Though I do not usually consider myself as someone who asks for these kinds of favors, right now I need all the help I can get. The marching activity has affected my life in so many positive ways, whether it be the people I've met or the lessons that I have learned.
