Finally got to one of the first people on my list to attack for my first artfight. @artbyalp, We've been favoriting each other's TikToks for not very long and I've loved your style so I'm so happy to be drawing one of your characters. 

A part of me is glad a held off a bit though as it gave me a chance to see which characters in your collection were more favored for attacks so I could so some love to one of the lesser appreciated ones. That's how I fell upon Sel here. With the vibe described as "overgrown houseplants, half-finished tea gone cold, fogged glass" I knew I wanted a balcony scene in the early morning or just at sunset for that feeling of warmth and magical light upon isolated balcony scene. I was so caught up in this idea that even when I had no power and thus couldn't start it digitally as a have most of my attacks this year. I took to my sketchbook and began doodling drafts because it had to be done!

For those not interested in using Spotify it is "Golden Brown" The slowed down version by The Stranglers. It feels kind of melancholic and reverent and I feel that suits this solitary piece.

Re-creating my first webcomic from 12 years ago, "Hair Expectations vs Reality."

I can't help but feel all kinds of emotions after re-visiting the original comic: the one that started it all. A lot has changed since then, and I feel so fortunate to still create art and tell stories for a living. Thanks for your support, and sticking around for so long ❤️
