It's a little story that happened the day before Sev entering Hogwarts.
(I'll translate it later)
Happy Birthday to Severus!
Rushing to the October Death Eater meeting (they were almost late)
Happy Birthday Severus~☆
There is one line in the Harry Potter series that I think really defines Sirius Black as a bad person on the good side.
"I'm so bored. I wish it was a full moon."
I'm bored. I wish my friend could go through his agonizing transformation so we can all go run around in the woods together and babysit him as his mind is in this feral uncontrollable state. I can go run around the woods whether or not he's transformed, same with Peter and James, but no I specifically wish it was a full moon right now so I can get my entertainment.
There are a million things that one can point out about Sirius Black to state he's a bad person that did bad things, but I feel like this one is one of the more interesting ones. Because he's not bullying people who become death eaters and have debatable morals. He's not being cruel due to being oblivious, because of a rich pureblood upbringing. He's just wishing the time would move faster so he can have his fun, when he knows how much his "best friend" despises those transformations.
He's not intentionally cruel. He's not hexing Remus, he's not bullying Remus, etc. He just doesn't appear to care about one of his "best friend's" pain. And I find that interesting and a genuine show of his true character as a teen.
This is a truth as clear as day, and it could easily lead us into a whole rant about how Sirius’s upbringing shaped the way he truly viewed other people, and about how choosing the “good” side did not automatically mean he deconstructed his classist, aristocratic utilitarianism towards those he tended to see more as means than as equals. And how the fact that people so often forget or refuse to acknowledge this aspect of his personality completely flattens and undermines the character.
But I’ll leave it at this being the main reason why Wolfstar strikes me as an absurd ship. That, and the fact that Remus is canonically heterosexual to a fault, but above all, because of this.
