first time not drawing an oc for the @color-palettes challenge! wasn't sure what to do at the start of this month but i let it rotate in the back of my mind for a while and given i was also rotating logan sanders the combination was inevitable.

gave myself the challenge of only using the palette colours this month, no gradients or anything! may do it again for some palettes in future, though not as a rule or anything, just when i feel like it :D

managed to finish the oc animatic i was making for the @sparkbirdmusic SPACE!!! art showcase! first time participating and also first time actually finishing an oc animatic set to a song, though many more rotate in my mind constantly.

omggg to reiterate what I just said on youtube, this is incredible and so action-packed! like... "last minute" okayyyy if you say so!! this has so much going on in it, I've watched it three times and each time new details stand out to me. the throwing of the communications device, the rainbow ocular implant, all the really smooth movements like when Unit-y (I think that's the character) looks back at 0:33...

ahh thank you! the last minute was semi more about not knowing the deadline was farily lenient and rushing to make sure it was submitted on time haha, hard to resist polishing it more but i did spend a fair amount of time on it!! thank you for making a song with such fun lyrics to match to, i love incorporating details that work with them :D i'm glad you enjoyed watching it and reading the description!! the scene with unit-y was one of the first i worked on polishing, very much had a vision in mind for it :D

didn't leave it til the last hour of the month this time! my piece for the march palette of @color-palettes challenge :D really pretty palette this one, love the greens.

once again left it until the last minute in my timezone to do the february @color-palettes challenge! had a lot of fun using more of a painting method with this one, i find gradient palettes lend themselves really well to working with values. drew one of my robots, prism :)

remembering i never posted this art of jon that was also heavily based on a dream like the last one, because i wasn't sure if it was like. obvious enough jon outside of dream context. but i'm still really happy with the way it turned out so i figure i might as well share!

drawn for the decay prompt of funguary! technically this is art of an oc of mine (the building)! a little bit late for the first week but i wanted to do at least something, given this is the last year of it, even if i don't get around to all of the prompts!

sure! only because i like those little guys :P you may have this pippins drawing i am unlikely to polish and also a page of random sketches too, the green one is there i gave him a bowtie. i think he and pip could sure have a dynamic of some kind but i couldn't say if it would be negative or positive (the worse option. don't let them be friends)

was finishing off brush week most of this month (can be seen in my previous few posts!) but i still wanted to quickly make something for the january @color-palettes challenge! hopefully next month i have time to make something more polished (only an hour til february here!), but it's nice to draw this oc again!

and with day 7 of brush week, the lovely brush, i am done! had fun with this one, getting to just play dress up with them a bit lol. thoughts under the cut!

honestly i didn't have too much lore for this one as i just wanted a chill thing to end this on. the main design process was spamming a button labelled 'hearts' several times until i was satisfied lol.

i will note the widow's peak making the face a heart shape and also the slight inclusion of the envelope motif with the straps of the shirt being reminiscent of it

thought about giving it angel wings but given i didn't go with the bat wings for wretched i decided on some kind of petal looking thing instead

day 6 of brush week, the penultimate lagoon brush! another one that i was looking forward to, and i'm happy with how i pulled off the concept that was in my mind! thoughts on the design as always under the cut!

they're so textures i love drawing water

i went in with the idea of flenme being half water, half sand, as though a part of the beach itself. a few key elements like the tail being a river (which ended up my favourite thing about this design!) were decided later on!

in their world it kind of does actually exist as particles through the entire planet and i thought this was a fun way to allude to that. it's in the beach!! the ocean! the plants, the air!

for some reason it seems i am also treating this challenge as pose practice lol, i'm really happy with how this pose turned out! originally i had them lying down across the sand/sea split but i just drew a reclined flenme for day 5 so i wanted to vary it, and i like how the wings frame the water this way!

the water texture was fun, but i'm very happy with the sand texture too, something that i don't think i've drawn before, and it was easier that i thought it would be! and the hands and legs actually look a bit like a part of the beach which is very cool to achieve.

got rid of the details in the ears to give a more sea slug look instead. creature
