It's a shame to me that you don't treasure the delights of Post Modernism. It showed that architects creating fun, celebratory work was okay and that history wasn't a four letter word. It also acknowledged a basic human appreciation for color, pattern, humor, wit and of course fun. Me thinks you drank too much of the architecture intelligentsia Kool Aid.

Just like its a shame you cannot accept my opinion without accusing me of being brain washed. I have been working on architectural offices for the last 30 years, I lived PoMo not from the sidelines but from the field. I disliked it then and I dislike it now. 

IN MY OPINION architecture can have color, pattern, humor, wit and fun without becoming a joke, and that is what PoMo did to architecture. Like every style and fashion trend if enough time goes by it becomes fashionable again but the ideals, the foundation of PoMo is the problem, instead of moving architectural design forward they became little more than revivalists using modern technology.

I don’t hate all PoMo buildings and could ague that Aldo Rossi and Mario Botta, for example, reached moments of sublime beauty in PoMo architecture but most work produced later in the style became a joke reaching the inevitable conclusion of most architects rejecting what the PoMo stood for.

So I guess this is my first post in this new blog of mine.

Hello, I’m Jay and I’m a huge fan of all things Hellsing!

I am also an amateur voice actor who has dabbled a bit in the eldritch pool that is the No Life King.

My main inspiration (and my idol) is the original Japanese VA Joji Nakata but I also take some stuff from Crispin Freeman’s incredible performance as ol’ Al and naturally as I don’t speak Japanese and speak English I rely on the latter’s for assistance. Also I used reverb effects for *hand waving* pizzazz~
