Challenged myself to do a portrait study in an hour (just went a few mins over 😅) I didn’t manage to capture Jacob’s essence as much as I’d have liked but I’ve definitely turned a corner with approaching skin/lighting/edges on this occasion! Love when that happens

#my art #ofmd #ofmd fanart #ofmd comic #our flag means death #gentlebeard #comic #ofmd 2.5 #the revenge crew #I had lost the brainworms for Ofmd nearly completely #but then this part of the thread in particular hit me with a steel chair #edstede #described #description in alt text #this took me a full work week to make (about 40 hours)#it's a good thing I'm unemployed and hyperfocused lmao #the chauncey and nigel portraits were done in a separate file as full colour pieces with the frame so that took about 2 hrs 40 mins #the 1st 2nd and 3rd pages got swapped up a bit from my initial chicken scratch thumbnails so they flowed better #the fourth page with the crew hiding gave me the most grief and I did it last after thinking about it whilst doing the other pages #i changed what i wanted to happen on it as a full page to trying different angles and eventually settling on the 4 panel split #it still meant a lot of drawing but it was less complicated to figure out than what i initially wanted to do #plus it gave a better sense of them being spread out and slinking around new york trying to hide. Turned into my favourite page!#and that's all my dvd commentary for now
