Does anyone here have experience with reading latin iambic trimeter ( or any latin iambic verses) out loud? I‘m supposed to prepare this text, but I don‘t know where one would place the ictus (or whether you can read iambic verses per ictus at all?) Is it on the first short syllable bc that‘s where the foot starts or on the length like where english/german iambic verses puts the stress? If the second what happens when the longum gets made into a phyrrichius (two breves)?
