We LOVE feedback—and we don’t mean this ironically. When members review our services, it provides yet another platform for our community to voice their likes, dislikes, and what we could do better.
Every once in a while, we will receive a review like the one you see here. Although we don’t agree with the subject matter and we’re not immune to the sting of a single star, we still LOVE feedback. These comments provide an opportunity to further the #open mission. As mentioned above, #open is a proud supporter of Planned Parenthood. In fact, we’ve pledged to donate $1 for every #open profile created up to $69,000. Last year alone, Planned Parenthood saw 2.4 million patients and provided 9.7 million services, including 4,712,985 STI tests and treatment, 741,352 HIV tests, 2,620,867 birth control services, 296,310 breast exams, 274,145 Pap tests, and detected the early stages of cancer for 70,193 women. Ultimately, we are extremely honored to support an organization that does the above (and much more) for our community, and we look forward to defending organizations and individuals who continually advocate for the betterment of marginalized folx.
Now, on the other hand, negative reviews like the one above do quite a bit of damage to our small (but growing) business. Not only do reviews give potential members an idea of general app usability, but they also determine how we appear in searches. The lower the rating, the less likely we are to appear. If you think the #opencommunity is worth defending, consider leaving a review of your own on the Apple App Store or Google Play to negate the impact a review like this one can have on our visibility.
