DISCLAIMER: I did this all in one day and I stayed up extra late doing this, so like, I got really delirious and tired halfway through. But I couldn’t sleep, so I figured “screw it. I gotta finish it”. So, if this tutorial actually turns out to be bad, I’m so sorry. I tried my very best to give good advice, even if I was exhausted and tired, so please give this a read if you have trouble with colors.

ANOTHER DISCLAIMER: I am by no means a master artist man. I’m just a self taught freelancer, so take everything I said here with a grain of salt. Absorb whatever knowledge I shared here selectively. Whatever you think will help you personally. This is just my own technique, other people will work with color differently than I do.

This AMV was a proof of concept prelude for a longer edit that never happened. I believe it would have transitioned into a Hello (by Evanescence) AMV, as I had written a scene-by-scene storyboard for that song's lyrics.

My key memories for this AMV, relate not to the video itself but mostly to what resulted in its existence. This AMV was edited during a long car-ride to an irksome destination. As there was no internet or cellphone service, I was limited to media on the laptop's HDD, cheap headphones to hear audio, and the device's battery life for editing time. With these resource constraints, this edit may have my most efficient turnaround - no more than 1.5 hours total.

There is no photos, receipts, or other records to show for that roadtrip, but this rush-job AMV remains.

Short and silly GMV.

I had been experimenting with picture, animation, and live action edits at this time. Therefore, video game footage was a reasonable next step. However, the in-game recording feature resulted in frequent frame rate drops. I'm not certain anymore if it was the computer hardware or recording software that was not up to the task.

I also wanted to make use of some custom effects for windows movie maker/cosmetic mods for Sims 2. So as far as those reasons, this impulse GMV was a win-win.
