it's very important to me that everyone knows that ilya rozanov is not a fighter. that is canonically part of why he's so annoying on the ice. usually when people throw verbal punches, they're willing and ready to throw physical ones too. ilya, however, is not; he talks his shit and then backs it up by being the best on the ice. he's both boston and ottawa's most beloved player and captain, and punching him will only get the people who ARE fighters on you
the people who are fighters most notably including troy barrett. people always seem to forget that troy, even after joining and adapting to the centaurs, is An Asshole. he's scrappy, he gets in fights with players and refs alike— he's just one of those players that, no matter how chill they are off of the ice, will never hesitate to drop gloves. i feel like that's a very important part of his character that people assume went away after he gets with harris and comes out, but it didn't. he's still a dick on the ice even if he isn't off if it
