Hiatus Notice

Because I graduated high school a couple of months ago, I am finally taking my “senior trip” with my cousin out of country. I will not be able to get online much, if any, during the time that I am away.

I will be gone from July 19th to July 30th. It’s a long time to be away, I know, but I will try to get on some if I have wifi where I’m going.

Also, I will not be on much tomorrow because of a concert that I’m going to or the day after because I have to drive several hours to pick up my cousin, several back to a hotel near the airport, and then to the airport.

Sorry about the long absence, but I’m hoping that a change of scenery, even for a short while, will be good for me.

Daryl lifted his head from the mattress at the question. A frown rugged at his lips as he stared at the other man. This had to be some kind of joke. Daryl wasn’t about to share his bed. Besides, he was fairly certain that the archer hated him since they were always fightin’ with each other. “The hell ya want to sleep in my bed for? Ain’t you got yer own?”

Daryl’s frown deepened when he noticed the clouded look in Clint’s eyes and the hand that was resting over a scar. And then Clint was stammerin’, tryin’ to apologize. “Ain’t gotta apologize. Was jus’ a dumb question.” The bowman sat up slowly as Clint took a step backwards, eyes narrowed at just how… upset the man seemed. “Aw hell,” Daryl muttered. Before he could say anything else, Clint was gone. He rolled off the bed and slipped out of his room. “Hey, dumb ass. Why didn’ ya just say ya had a nightmare?”

Clint froze in his step and swallowed hard as he stayed there with his back towards Daryl. He figured he would’ve known he would’ve figured it out quickly. He forced himself to relax but it was hard with his nerves all jacked up on fear that was clouding his mind. “Would ya admit it?” He spot back without the usual fight he had in his voice. Right now his voice just sounded tried.

If it was anyone else, Daryl doubted he would have pieced it together so quickly. But he and Clint were a lot alike. It wasn't hard to get a read on the man. Like how tense he was because of whatever nightmare he'd had. How it would be a bad idea to try and touch Clint when he was like this. Daryl hung back a couple of feet, giving Clint plenty of breathing room. "Hell no I wouldn' admit that. Still, jus' askin' to sleep with someone is 'bout as bad as admittin' ya had a nightmare." He paused for a moment, lifted a hand to his lips as he thought about what he should say. "C'mon. Ain't much of a bed, but we can share."

His breath caught in his throat as he tried not to panic. “Y-You’re right….S-Sorry.” He manged to get out before turning on his heel and heading back to his room. He should’ve known Daryl wouldn’t want him near him but he figured the male would understand better then anyone else.

    And yet, there an elf was, standing in front of the human with his head tilted to the side, the indigo eyes narrowed to a squint as he carefully watched the other, a dagger in hand. Well, if you believed that elves existed, and also accepted that this particular one didn’t look like one from Lord of the Rings. This elf reminded a lot of a goth, with fangs, scarifications, and feather accessories. 

    An ear swiveled as he listened to any new sounds coming too close. A short sequence of clicks left his throat. “First living human, you.” He gave a brief wave with the dagger at the man, caring little about what he was muttering about. “Thisss… no expected, this, dead ones, everywhere.” A few other elves had told him about it, but he had never really believed it.

     Daryl liked to think it took a lot to really freak him out these days, but the elf or whatever the thing was in front of him definitely was. ‘Specially the indigo eyes. He was used to seein’ dead eyes. Eyes that didn’ have any kind of emotion. Eyes that were mostly colorless. Not fuckin’ indigo. And then there were the fangs. What kind of elf had fangs? Dehydration was messin’ with his head. That had to be the only explanation. 

     The grip on his crossbow tightened at the ear swiveling and at the clicking. This was too much for Daryl. Walkers he could handle. An arrow, rock, knife to the brain, and they were dead again. He wasn’t really sure how to kill an elf. Or even if he could if he needed to. “There ain’t a lot of us around anymore.” He took a half step back when the knife was waved towards him, grip tightening further on his own weapon. “Walkers, ya mean? They ain’t always been around. Jus’ happened all of a sudden.”

“What the fuck?” That’s all Daryl could think to say as he stared at the... thing in front of him. He refused to think elf. Because it should not be possible. Walkers, yeah. There was a virus or some shit that made them. That was something that made sense. But a fucking elf? That didn’t make sense to the bowman at all. “You’ve gotta be fuckin’ kiddin’ me. This ain’t happenin’,” Daryl muttered.
