Purpose

Everyone is born to fulfill a moment, a meaning, a lesson, a reason. But what our purpose is may be difficult to uncover, to discover, to plan, or to achieve. Some are born knowing what they want to become – a teacher, a doctor, a chef – whilst others are simply trying their best to live day by day. Some feel the need to better the world, to help others with their trials, whilst others are fully content to make another being smile, to grace an animal with love and affection, to improve the day of another. Each person of this world is destined to fulfill their reason for being - be it a simple, unmemorable act or a world-changing adventure. Neither is more or less than the other. How do you discover or decide what is to be your chosen purpose on this earth? Perhaps, you strive for fame and greatness, or you follow your passions and chase after a dream. Nothing , and I do mean nothing, is impossible. Yes, I know, it sounds as if I’m preaching, but, hey, you have to stay positive in your thoughts. You have to continue thinking on the brighter side of life. Do not give up because the road may seem too long or the obstacles in your path appear too big. Always remember your worth and what it is you want. For as long as you try you will never fail.

So, I shall leave you to ponder this inspirational quote:

A Simple Revelation

The other day I was searching through the vastness of the internet for stories of love and eternity. I wanted to give myself an idea of what I was looking for and would maybe someday stumble upon. Everlasting love, the One, my Soulmate. And so when I found an article online, listing all the ways he [the man who would become my husband] would better me and love me and understand me, I thought How could a single person, who is as young as I am, possibly know everything about the world? How could he know me better than my parents or my closest friends? How is it even possible for someone like this to exist? And the answer... He doesn't exist. I am not being a pessimist when I say this. But, let's be honest for a moment. The man I find, regardless of his age or supposed experience, will never be as business savvy or noble as my father. The man I choose, will never give me the honest opinion and needed advice that my mother always has. The man I marry, will never love me so fiercely and understand me as well as my closest and dearest friends. In time, with effort and interest and care, he will become so much greater in all these things. But, again, it will take time and dedication; it is not immediate. How wonderful is this? And, no, I am not being sarcastic. The fact is, a single being will never be the entirety of my world. And I would never, ever want him to be. I want to look to my father for leadership. I want to ask my mother for the words I need to hear. I want to run to my "sisters" when I am feeling lost or lonely. I have incredible, amazing people in my life. So why would I neglect or ignore them simply because I've begun dating someone?   But, hey, don't get me wrong, I am excited to eventually stumble upon a love that is life-changing, to find the man that God has chosen for me. And I feel so relieved to know that he doesn't have to be my everything. Yes, I will love him and rely on him, but - and this a wonderful and beautiful but - I will also and always have my family and friends.
