No. 1. Costume d'enfant.

En foulard de Suez imprimé a fleurettes, genre Louis XVI, bleu et rose de Chine. La jupe est plissée et bordée d’une bande unie de velours rose de Chine foncé. Bouffant en gilet, retenu àla taille par une ceinture; ce même bouffant forme la tunique et le pouff. Jaquette courte retenue au col par un nœud de velours, ornée d’un revers de velours allant en s’élargissant jusqu’en bas. Jabot de dentelle à la jaquette. Parement de velours et dentelle froncée aux manches. Chapeau de paille de riz crème avec torsade de velours. Touffe de plume rose de Chine sur le devant de laquelle part une plume amazone qui termine la garniture de ce joli chapeau.

Il faut pour ce costume 8 m. de foulard en 60 cent., 4 m. de velours en 50 cent., plus 1 m. 50 cent, de velours ruban pour 1 e nœud no. 16.

No. 1. Child’s suit.

Made of Suez foulard printed with small floral motifs in the Louis XVI style, in shades of blue and Chinese pink. The skirt is pleated and edged with a solid band of deep Chinese-pink velvet. The bodice features a puffed, vest-like front, cinched at the waist by a sash; this same puffed fabric forms both the tunic and the pouf (bustle). A short jacket, fastened at the neck with a velvet bow, is adorned with velvet lapels that widen gradually toward the hem. The jacket features a lace jabot. The sleeves are finished with velvet cuffs and gathered lace trim. A cream-colored rice-straw hat, encircled by a twisted velvet band, is topped with a cluster of Chinese-pink feathers; from the front of this cluster extends a single Amazonian feather, completing the ornamentation of this charming hat.

This suit requires 8 meters of foulard fabric (60 cm wide), 4 meters of velvet fabric (50 cm wide), plus 1.50 meters of velvet ribbon for the No. 16 bow.

Toilette de mariée.

Première jupe, fourreau en satin, ornée d’un plissé, avec tablier de tulle brodé en relief. Ce tablier, découpé dans le bas,est festonné et orné de pampilles de perles en poires, imitation perles fines. Seconde jupe en faille française montée à gros plis plats sur les hanches. La traîne arrondie se rattache sur le côté par une couture; elle est ornée jusqu’à cette couture d’un coquillé de dentelle de tulle brodé.

Corsage de faille avec chemisette de tulle brodé sur dessous de satin. Cette chemisette rentre dans un corselet boutonné par des perles. Le corselet est en faille. L’entournure est ornée, ainsi que le bas delà manche, d’une dentelle de tulle brodé. Même dentelle tout autour du corselet dans le bas. Deux bouquets de fleurs d’oranger à feuillage garnissent le corsage. Voile en tulle Bobin. Gants de Suède blancs. Souliers en peau de Suède blancs avec très petite touffe d’oranger, et bas avec dessus de dentelle. On emploiera pour cette toilette 7 m. de satin bon marché pour le fond et le plissé, 15 m. défaille, 2 m. 50 de tulle brodé en 80 cent, et 18 m. de dentelle assortie.

Bridal Ensemble.

First skirt: a satin sheath, adorned with pleating, featuring an overskirt of raised-embroidery tulle. This overskirt, cut with a shaped hem, is scalloped and embellished with teardrop-shaped pearl pendants (simulating natural pearls). Second skirt: French faille, gathered into deep, flat pleats at the hips. The rounded train attaches at the side seam; up to this seam, it is adorned with a shell-patterned trim of embroidered tulle lace.

Faille bodice featuring a chemisette of embroidered tulle over a satin under-layer. This chemisette tucks into a corselet fastened with pearl buttons. The corselet is made of faille. The armholes—as well as the cuffs of the sleeves—are trimmed with embroidered tulle lace. The same lace borders the entire lower edge of the corselet. Two small bouquets of orange blossoms with foliage adorn the bodice. Veil: Bobbinet tulle. White suede gloves. White suede shoes featuring a tiny cluster of orange blossoms, and stockings with lace tops. For this ensemble, the following materials are required: 7 meters of inexpensive satin for the foundation and pleating; 15 meters of faille; 2.50 meters of embroidered tulle (80 cm wide); and 18 meters of matching lace trim.

No. 3. Toilette de jeune femme (sœur de la mariée).

Fourreau de faille blanche orné du côté gauche de six volants d’application d'Angleterre. Ces volants garnissent seulement le côté; ils sont retournés sur eux-mêmes de façon à ne pas les cou fier. Jupe unie froncée en satin duchesse bleu Sèvres. Cette jupe s'arrête à la quille de volants de dentelle. Tunique froncée eu même satin retenue àla hanche par un chou de satin. Cette tunique est retroussée de même de l’autre côté sur la jupe de satin. Corsage en ottoman bleu broché de blanc avec draperies et col Médicis en satin. Chemisette tendue en crêpe blanc. Bracelets en ruban de satin et dentelle aux manches. Gants de Suède et bottines de satin bleu Sèvres. Il faut pour cette toilette : 5 m. de petite faille blanche, 6 m. de dentelle sur 18 cent, de haut., 12 m. de satin bleu, 2 m. 50 d'ottoman broché et 60 cent, de crêpe pour la chemisette.

No. 3. Young Woman’s Ensemble (Sister of the Bride).

A sheath dress of white faille, adorned on the left side with six applied ruffles of English lace. These ruffles trim only the side; they are turned back upon themselves so as not to lie flat. A plain, gathered skirt of Sèvres-blue Duchess satin. This skirt terminates at a vertical panel of lace ruffles. A gathered tunic of the same satin is secured at the hip by a satin rosette. This tunic is similarly draped upward on the opposite side over the satin skirt. Bodice of blue ottoman silk brocaded in white, featuring draped details and a Medici collar in satin. A fitted chemisette of white crêpe. Satin ribbon and lace wristbands adorn the sleeves. Suede gloves and Sèvres-blue satin ankle boots. Materials required for this ensemble: 5 meters of fine white faille, 6 meters of lace (18 cm wide), 12 meters of blue satin, 2.50 meters of brocaded ottoman silk, and 60 centimeters of crêpe for the chemisette.
