Within the last few months I have been to a number of different sports games. I have been to a hockey game, a basketball game, a baseball game and even a skateboard contest. The big takeaway I have from all these different sporting events are the fans and how they interact with one another. It’s amazing to see the energy of a basketball game along side the utter brut-ness of a hockey game. Skateboarding is a community similar to a cool kids club while baseball fans seem to be educated, yet angry at minute situations. Basketball fans don’t get rowdy but they curse while hockey fans don’t hesitate to throw a punch, or hit head on something. Humans needed community, and outlets. We have found these categories to filter ourselves too. I don’t think this is a bad thing, but I do think it is fascinating. The shots above are from a Yankee game Megatron screen. It’s funny to see the different interactions fans have from these different sports when they get up on the big screen. I must say baseball fans are the funniest.
