V'ehxness' expression would have been just as unreadable without her mask. Her imposing figure cast a long shadow as she stood over the defeated form of her sister. The sight of her was... Pathetic. Pitiful. This had been inevitable. From the second Eva was born, this fate was inevitable. The only reason she was alive was due to her proximity to the Supreme Commander.

Of course she would bring up Kamyuhn. Even when she was struggling to speak, she spent her breath on defending that child. She felt her hand balling into a fist, but she quickly forced it to relax again. To maintain her perfect poise.

She stepped towards Eva until she was towering over her. She looked... Young. Weak. She couldn't help but think back to childhood memories as she looked down at her. Here was the last witness to V'ehxness before she gained the divine blood, and soon she would be gone. It was strange seeing it. If it had happened in battle, would she feel different? Feel nothing? Instead Eva was bleeding out, struggling to breathe right ion front of her. Broken and terrified. Pathetic and pitiful, and yet still putting her family first.

And she was still looking at her with that look in her eyes. Even now. She didn't even consider begging for her life? Didn't even consider asking for help? No. Eva never saw V'ehxness as a hero. A savior. She was a monster to be feared and hated. Maybe she was right. Look at what being anything else got you. You died for nothing in the rain.

"How many did you kill?" She finally asked, "You weren't consumed by them. Did you run away?"

The sky opened up, and the rain started to pound the streets around them. Eva's divine blood mixed with the mud.

"... Looks like your God didn't protect you after all."

A lifetime of bitterness bubbled beneath the surface as she spoke. If he was real, where was he? Why, even now, did Eva reject her as the true God?

Each second dragged on for an eternity. Maybe that is what dying felt like. Slow inevitable moments dragging out as long as possible. The soul trying to cling tightly to life for even one more fraction of a minute. Pain and injury weighed down on her. Crushing her as she shrunk more to accommodate it.

Eva wondered how different things would have been if they would have been born earlier. Before the invaders started killing their people and destroying their planet. Maybe if she's reborn somehow, she can live life as a normal girl and not a so-called hero that only fails. She wasn't built for this. They say that God makes no mistakes, but she may have to disagree. Eva was a mistake. Her divine blood should have gone to someone else. Someone that could have protected Kamyuhn or the planet.

"It's true what the scouts said..." Eva forced out the words in a sob. It hurt. Everything hurt. All she could taste was her own blood. "I killed them... Watched them collapse and bleed and then... They got taken away and came back fighting again... They're immortal." Her voice trembles from the pain and sorrow.

She had no issues seeing through the mist in her transformed state. She saw it clearly. Blood spilled upon the ground and... --

She can't move. She takes in a shaky breath. If they weren't defeated, everyone would die. Even if... She wanted everyone to be free of her sister's tyranny... She knew it would be better for her to win than lose. After all... They wanted to kill them all.

"They have the same... Abilities as we do. They... can't die." But... "S-something... takes them back... into the base... Maybe if it's destroyed...." She shifts slightly and gasps from the pain. It is raining now and she can barely hear anything over it. Her own suppressed sobs wrack her body with tremors. It hurts. She's so cold.

"I.... ran. I.... I didn't want... them to..." The idea of being consumed. Of being forced to become one with them. Dying somewhere alone slowly was better.

And of course. V'ehxness brings up God. She... still thought herself better than God. How... cruel. But she's right. No one saved her. She had long ago stopped expecting anyone to. God must be hurting so badly seeing what is happening to his children. She... knew all too well how much it hurt to not be able to save them.

"V'ehxness... Please... " Stop them, spare Kamyuhn... She didn't even know. How cruel it was, to find no comfort in her sister's presence. God must really hate both of them, she thinks bitterly.
