Nuclear weapons were used in haste and rage, reducing more than half of the world to uninhabitable conditions due to radiation. The human population dwindled to roughly ~10,000 over the course of the aftermath. Entire continents ( Europe, South America, Asia, and Africa ) are wastelands, full of decay and ruined civilizations. The remaining population formed settlements in safe zones ( Canada, Northern states in America, Australia, Greenland, and Iceland ). Humanity lost the war with itself, setting back its advances more than anyone could have anticipated. The people have reverted back to hunter/gatherer instincts, relying heavily on nature for their survival, or remnants of solar powered farms, if they can get lucky. And there is no government. Settlements form their own laws; some corrupt, some thriving. This leads us to our protagonist, Terric, and the place he calls home. A city once known as Winnipeg. Gigantic buildings trying to decay is where they set up home, having decided they're good shelter from the elements and defenses from raiders. Solar panels were set up on the roofs, making it possible to grow crops in makeshift greenhouses within the compounds. They have one working laptop rigged up to the worldwide wifi satellite still orbiting the Earth. Its used only by the Chief and higher up personnel ( such as doctors, teachers, scientists, etc ) for any knowledge they may need from the past pertaining to their survival. ( to be updated. )
