bxcnnc it's coming along so nicely, I can't wait to finish this piece of them!
Looking epic for the final showdown β¨
β¨ them β¨
it's been a long while since I've really drawn any ToA characters tbh
oh yeah my favorite character in trollhunters his name is uh (looks at smudged writing on hand) watermelon stick candy
[ko-fi]
" quit playing the victim card! we've all been through stuff! it doesn't give us a free pass to be an asshole! " karl snapped. (Trollhunter Karl AU)
With that, Uhls sudden outburst seemed to have made Strickler go quiet for a moment or two. He really hadn't expected that sort of stuff from Uh- the Trollhunter. He swiftly regains his composure and delivers a sharp glare in the Trollhunters direction, very much pissed off. The victim card? No, never in his life has he ever played such a hand, an act like that would make him look pathetic! He was anything but that! What would his former colleague even know? Strickler rummages through his mind, thinking of something to retort back at him, possibly of something that could deal a bit of emotional turmoil/pain. Even what being said wasn't true, after all, lies can still hurt just as much as the truth could.
" Oh? Then tell me, what exactly have you been through oh, great and mighty Trollhunter? Aside from the precarious situations that YOU put yourself through." He snaps right back at him. The word "trollhunter" was spat out like it was made of venom and, to him, it really was. Strickler straightens up his overcoat and sneers, the changeling definitely did not like being called out. Time to be a bit of a hypocrite. " Get off your high horse, I have every right to act the way I do. Can you say the same?"
striicklerβ:
The history teacher seems to take notice of his hesitance , though he doesnβt that clear to Uhl. If the βnightmaresβ were in any reference to Bular, then Strickler honestly loved that bit, anyone sane would think the same of said brute. He was a handful and an absolute nightmare to deal, not to mention frustrating. The troll prince really had no self-preservation and it was a miracle that he hadnβt been discovered yet by the other residents of Arcadia. That human child Eli excluded, of course.
β Well then, they must be some nightmares if theyβre managing to disrupt your sleep schedule this much. Perhaps, I can help you out a little, after all I am the counselor for a good reason.β Strickler sighs, putting on a warm smile to help ease his colleagues worry, if he had any. This was a chance to get know the other teacher better, though it wasnβt of benevolent intent. With that being said, Strickler had a very small doubt in the back of his mind but, it was small enough for him to squash easily. Still, having a trollhunter be a fellow teacher was going to be rather troubling for him. Especially in the instance that Strickler may very well have to.. Well, that could be thought of at a later time. β You donβt really seem all too fine, and I hope I donβt come off as too pushy with that being said, simply mark me down as a worried.. Friend.β
Strickler ventures deeper into the office and makes his place in front of Uhls desk, loosely crossing his arms. He frowns and gestures towards the other teacher.
β If itβs alright, what exactly can you tell me about these nightmares youβre having? Maybe getting a few of your troublesome dreams off your shoulders will help your mind ease up.β
Encountering Bular let alone it being his first time, he nearly panicked at the sight of Bular. He would have to listen to Eli over and over again before all of this happened. Before he realized that creatures does exist. It did amaze him on how Eli was able to stay out of the creaturesβ sights while knowing so much about them too as well. A frown plastered across his face at the sudden offer. A worried friend. He didnβt even hesitate getting up from his chair, taking a few steps backwards when Strickler approached him. Shit. He wasnβt expecting his co-worker to just ask him about the nightmares that he was having. ββ¦β He remained silent for a few seconds. Shit. The nightmares. How was he supposed to describe his nightmares? When most of his stress are mostly coming from being a Trollhunter. A slight uneasy chuckle, he stood where he was, seeming a bit wary. Strickler was only helping. βYou wonβt believe me if I tell you about the nightmares Iβve been having.β He informed Strickler rather bluntly, soon crossing his arms. Karl, come up with a story for the nightmares. Technically, he has been having nightmares. He just doesnβt know how to describe his nightmares.
The history teacher carefully watches his colleague movements, especially after the hurry out of his seat and stepping away. Well, this might make things a bit more difficult, then again.. When was his job ever easy? Strickler just had to simply plan things out in detail and be patient, this acting should be expected from a trollhunter. Even more so with a human trollhunter of all things. Considering that odd rule other trolls had, deep seated fear should settle down quite nicely in Uh-- the trollhunters future and make things so much easier for himself to handle. Was he assuming this? Yes, but he was certain of his predictions, after all.. When have humans truly ever been unpredictable?
" Senor Uhl, like I have stated before, I am a friend. And as your friend, I will believe you no matter how unruly or how strange your nightmares may be." He gives short lived smile of reassurance, placing a hand on his chest and nodding. A second attempt at gaining some trust from the current trollhunter. Though, he obviously couldn't be too pushy or rush anything right now, that'd simply risk the trollhunter becoming suspicious of his actions. " I give you my word."
argument sentence starters.
two lovely nonnies requested these and i hope they find them well!! some of these are general, others are a tiny bit more specific, they're very angry and aggressive and conflict-based so i hope they work out! bon appetit!
" you've got some nerve... "
" how dare you! "
" get the hell away from me! "
" what did you just say? "
" how could you say/do/think that?! "
" no. no way. not happening. "
" we're not having this conversation! "
" that's not a good enough explanation! "
" god, why does it always have to be a fight with you?! "
" get out! "
" get away from me! "
" god, i can't believe you... "
" what were you thinking?! "
" i hate you. "
" wait a minute, you're blaming me?! "
" well, of course i blame you! "
" none of this would've happened if you had just listened to me! "
" what are you talking about?! "
" god, you're [INSERT INSULTING ADJECTIVE HERE]. "
" i never want to see you again. "
" this is all your fault. "
" you're a monster! "
" what did you do?! "
" what's THAT supposed to mean? "
" you think you're so much better than me, don't you? "
" okay, that's it. what the hell's your problem? "
" you wanna know what your problem is? "
" i'm not talking to you when you're like this. "
" your plan's gonna get us all killed, and you know it. "
" god, you can never admit when you're wrong! "
" i want you to leave. now! "
" you have no idea what i've been through! "
" quit playing the victim card! we've all been through stuff! it doesn't give us a free pass to be an asshole! "
" you hypocrite! "
" you lied to me! "
" this is the part where you apologize. "
" this is the part where you leave. "
" you must think you're god's gift to the world. "
" oh, spare me your holier-than-thou bullshit! "
striicklerβ:
Karl stayed right after school to get some papers graded. Being a teacher while being a Trollhunter really gets to him. He used both of his fingers, rubbing his forehead. βEste no es uno de esos buenos dΓas.β He mumbled out under his breath, in fluent Spanish. Trollmarket can wait a bit longer without him. He puts his pencil down, his eyes widening at the sounds of the knocking on the doorframe of his office. He looked over to see who knocked to get his attention. βMister Strickler?β He questioned, a hint of caution and surprise being mixed with his question. It isnβt easy being a teacher and being a Trollhunter. βWas there something youβd need?β
ββββββββββββββββ
It wasnβt too unusual for him to check on his coworkers but, it was definitely not a common enough occurrence for them to be used to it by now. Hearing the other mumble something, Strickler gives Uhl an unreadable glance before straightening himself up and knocking on his door. The history teacher smiles warmly once his presence is noted by Uhl and he takes a couple steps forward into his office. Waving his hand a bit as if to say no to Uhls question, he chuckles softly.
β Nothing is needed, really, simply stopping by for a moment to see how you are fairing this afternoon. After all, it seems like youβre becoming a lot more weary as of late. Has something been keeping you up perhaps, I do hope work hasnβt been too stressful for you lately.β
Strickler replies, putting emphasis on βworkβ, though not enough to spark any confusion/suspicion from most. The history teacher frowns deeply and puts on a worried expression for his coworker. Gesturing towards, what could only be assumed was, the set of papers that Uhl had on his desk. Waiting to be graded. Though, he knew partially why his coworker felt the way he did currently, it really was something else to watch someone lie through their teeth. Especially when it came to someone like Uhl, Strickler had honestly thought of him as a rather overly blunt and honest person. A bit too much for his taste, but to each his own, the teacher supposed.
The teacher arches an eyebrow at his co-worker taking a couple steps forward into his office. A slight huff, of course, somebody noticed his weariness a lot more. He wasnβt exactly honest with others and he will never be honest with others. Work. Itβs been getting a bit stressful. His teacher job. His teacher life was getting a bit more stressful. Trying to juggle between being a teacher and being a Trollhunter. Itβs hard. Should he answer honestly? At this point, he already encountered Bular. Everybody around him cannot be trusted.Β βNightmares. Nightmaresβ been keeping me up lately.β He puts his pencil down onto the table, on top of his papers that was waiting to be graded. Lies. Heβs lying. Shit. Stricklerβs worried about him. His mental health.Β βMister Strickler, Iβm fine. Exhaustion and stress is a part of being a teacher.β He informed Mister Strickler. He was sitting in his chair.Β βDid you just come here to check on me?β He asked his co-worker. It was not a common occurence for Strickler to check on his co-workers.Β βI appreciate you checking on me.β

Tiny nari sketch for the soul--

The Exorcism of Claire Nunez
β Β i am not worth saving Β & Β i am not worth redemption. Β let me stay in the dark. Β β jim slightly growled out at strickler, his eyes narrowing threateningly. (@not-quite-anymore)
β I can assure you, Young Atlas, that you are, and have always been, worth saving.β The changeling raises his hand a little and attempts his best smile, trying to put Jim at ease. It was safe to say that he was rather confused by the uncharacteristic behaviours the teen was displaying. β What has led you to believe you're undeserving of redemption?β
@striickler
Ina made a face. Oh shit. This guy, again? Was he following her? Ina paused, and turned to look up at him impatiently.
"I ain't done nothin' yet today! Why're you followin' me?"
β I'll take your word for it, but simply mark me down as a.. Rightfully concerned adult as of now. After all, you did run away, quite alarming considering the question that made you run.β Strickler replies. And promptly ignores the question she asked. Glancing down at the child and dishing out the best, reassuring smile he could possibly muster. Trying to make her feel at ease. As much as he didn't want or care enough to confront Ina, he couldn't just allow someone so young to wonder around aimlessly.
β Should I assume you don't have the best relationship with your parents at home?β
Rightfully concerned adults always sent her ass back to the foster system. It was generally the first thing they did, right after trying to convince her to have a meal with them, or something. Even if she told them that she had a family, it was often the case that they'd still give it their best shot. For a moment, she didn't reply. In fact; Ina was clearly trying to puzzle out what was safest.
Finally, it was clear that Ina just settled on honest.
"It don't matter what I tell you. You're gonna call the cops."
Strickler was certainly a bit surprised that she hadn't tried to run off yet again but, that was good. He begins to ponder to himself and wondered if there was a good reason why this child did not wish to talk about her parents. Perhaps, they weren't the best parents and that's why Ina decided to wander the streets instead? Or maybe she didn't have any? Hence why she believed he would call the cops? Though, it was probably best not to assume the absolute worst.
He sighs and kneels down to meet her at eye level, β and what if I promised not to call the officials?β
He holds out a hand, hopefully his words would be enough to help convince her to speak about her home life.
Small cooking hc; Since the departure of Jim at the end of the Trollhunters series, Strickler took upon himself to learn how to cook better. Mostly for both Barbara & the children they basically adopted. And although, the changeling is not as great as Jim when it comes to making human food, he still proves to be fairly skilled at it. Plus he is basically an expert when it comes chopping things up lol.
