My name is Irene, and I’m very new to both The Sims 4 and to Tumblr (honestly, I’m still figuring out how either of them works!). I was drawn to the Sims world because of the OFMD community, which I adore, and especially after stumbling across your beautiful GIFs. Your work genuinely lit a creative spark in me, and it made me want to try the game for myself.
I’ve done a lot of research and even downloaded the game, but I quickly realized how difficult it is to create Sims from scratch, especially ones that resemble the characters I love. So when I found your post with the base sims (https://www.tumblr.com/ofmdee/732000380316254208/sim-ed-resources-and-credits-base-sim-tattoos), I was so thrilled.
But when I tried to follow the links and download them, I wasn’t able to do any downloading. I don’t know if I’m doing something wrong, if there’s a technical issue, or if maybe this just isn’t something that’s generally done. I’ve tried to figure it out on my own, but I’ve reached the point where I thought it might be okay to ask for help.
So I wanted to ask, very gently, if this is something that can be done at all. Is it possible to download and use the base Sims made by others (or my only option is to create them myself)? And if so—if it wouldn’t be too much trouble—would you maybe be willing to share those files, or offer any clarity about what the alternatives are?
I’d be so grateful for any advice you might have. I completely understand if you prefer not to answer, but I wanted to at least try and reach out and thank you for your incredible creations. They’ve already brought me so much joy just through seeing them on your blog.

and aaah, that's right, as far as i remember the gallery viewer is not being updated anymore, so i guess the download links no longer work. you're not doing anything wrong! (since you're new to ts4, i am going to explain step by step, apologies if i overexplain! also posting publicly in case anyone else is experiencing issues!)
so what you want to do is: open your game and open the gallery (looks like this)
so then, you'll see something like this:
what you will want to do, to get those particular sims, is go to the search bar, switch the drop down menu to EA Account ID and search for the user pixelblume
which will take you to their gallery page:
i circled the sims i used as bases for my guys, but it looks like they've also made a few ed's if you don't wanna bother making over the taika sim.
then you're gonna click on the little download arrow and save household to my library
which will lead you to a popup like this
from here, you can (left button) save him to your library (so you can find him easily if you ever want to place him again) or place him directly into your save (right button)
i pressed the right button and hit the replace option, so he replaced the random sim that generated when i went into CAS
now, fair warning, depending on what packs you have/don't have, he might end up looking significantly different 😂 for example, i did this with only base game, and this is how he looks in CAS for me:
so then you get to load him up with CC and make him his beautiful self!!!
