And what makes me so brave? It’s a flobberworm. Absolutely harmless.

I see. But wouldn't you say that some learn through observation? 

Is it really? *She bent down to get a closer look.* Huh, would you look at that. But now, *she waved her finger* it's a bird. *She watched it fly away*

Yeah, so uh.. Professor Perry might be a little extravagant and demure.

I’m poking this thing, what does it look like I’m doing, ma’am?

[headmistressperry]

Exactly that. But why are poking it? *she crushed the end of her cigarette on a rock and threw it into the trash* 

I must say, I admire your bravery.

What, may I ask, are you doing? 

[angel-madison]

"A life without fun gets you absolutely nowhere, though. Books can’t really teach you very much, anyways. Not as much as actually doing. I have one of the best grades in my CoMC class! It’s all a hands on thing, mostly, anyways. I already know all that stuff. Plus, it’s the most fascinating. But it’s a hands on thing, which is better than stuffy classrooms with no fresh air."

"I think you’ve got me all confused, Professor. Are you sure you shouldn’t lie down? Avery is my sister. Well, half sister. We have different moms. But she’s still my sister. I’m Angel. And unfortunately, you’ve made yourself very clear, Professor."

[headmistressperry]

"Stuffy classrooms with no fresh air?" Professor Perry scoffed. "I believe I'll have to escort you to your next class so you can show me for yourself how 'stuffy' it is." She said. 

"Yes, you'll have to excuse me, my mistake Angel." She thought to herself. "I hope I don't catch you with your broom in a place it isn't allowed. I'll take your leave now. Good day," she walked away.

"Oh, of course, Professor. But I can barely sit through class, so homework that takes that long usually only gets half done."

"If it helps any, Headmistress, I’m proven to be able to sit longer after broom rides, which means less disruption for my classes, which is more time to learn, and I’m less likely to do reckless things. It’s a thing, you know? I kinda need my broom."

[headmistressperry]

"Do what you must. But a lack of good grades won't get you very far, I promise you." 

"Good for you Miss Avery. But no more riding in the halls or your broom will be confiscated. I hope I've made myself very clear?" 

[angel-madison]

Angel took the broom back with a grin. “Of course, Professor. Thank-you. Most of them give me detentions. But I’ve only had two so far this month, which I guess is improvement. And one of them was for not completing the homework, but that wasn’t really my fault because the homework was just so boring and it took too long and then I forgot I had to do it.”

"It’s just faster than running and I can fly over people and not run through them and it’s good practice for quidditch! Like an obstacle course! It’s a thing. Oh, right! How are you this morning, Professor?"

[headmistressperry]

She nodded her head in response. "Some of the most important things in life are the most troublesome to accomplish. I believe homework is one of those things, Angel. Just a suggestion." 

"Ahh well. Unfortunately I'm going to have to cut your little broom adventures short. If I hear of this, I'm going to have to lock your broom up for practices and games only, and we can't have that, can we?" She winked. "Thank you for asking, I'm doing quite well."

Angel gave an ‘innocent’ smile towards the Headmistress. “Of course not, Headmistress. But on the off chance I was and accidentally bumped into you, are you okay?” She popped right back up, almost rocking up and down on her feet. “You know me, Professor! I’d never race my broom inside the school halls or anything. It’s a hazard, as you would of clearly been able to tell if I had and I had knocked you down. How are you doing this morning, Professor? Is today special? It must be special. You look really nice. Is it your birthday, maybe? I’d bake you a cae, but I’m not all that great in the kitchen. Avery actually finds it best when I don’t use the oven because I forget things are in there and burn things, or I set fire to our oven once. It was an accident.”

"I'm fine, my dear," she rose to her feet. The Headmistress listened silently, containing a laugh within herself as Angel rambled on. "Okay, Miss Madison, that's enough." She strode over to the broom, raising it up with a flick of her wand. "I believe this belongs to you." She handed it back to Angel. She then looked around the halls, confirming no one else was there. "If it was another Professor, you might not have gotten away so easily. I implore you to be cautious of where you ride your broom."

Angel was flying around the halls - again. One would think that a detention or two a month for getting caught doing this very thing would dissuade her from it, but it didn’t. She heard a professor’s voice ahead, and instantly jumped off her broom - graceful on a broom, but off, not so much, She ended up near tumbling right into someone with running speed, knocking them both down.

Professor Perry immediately gained composure of herself, and kneeled next to Angel. "I'm going to assume that I didn't just see you race by with a broom in the halls. Is that right, Miss Madison?"

Excuse me? Miss Madison, is it?

*Sophia is up the one of the bookshelves, reaching for a book. one foot on a shelf, the other stretched out as if it would give her extra leverage* Gosh Darn it!
