My darling little tortoise <3 I have had a handful reptiles in my life. Among them my beloved garter snake, Bucey, who lived with me for a decade. She would eat from my hand, and curl up and watch me at my desk while I drew. Her little head would follow my hand across the paper. They are not cuddly, or affectionate. They will never be dogs or cats, but they don't need to be. Reptiles can be trusting, eagerly greet you, and recognize you as a safe resource for all of their needs. They can be bright, curious intelligent little creatures. Be kind to snakes, turtles, and all those little cold blooded creatures that are so frequently dismissed in our society.
