Researching Herb Safety

Hey witchblr and everyone else who is interested! I’ve noticed a lack of awareness when it comes to herbal remedies/medicines having side effects and interactions with medications, and realized a lot of people don’t know where to look! (All sites linked are free):

Chart for possible herb-drug interactions

HerbMed has a search function where you can look up the herb and find possible interactions.

WebMD has a search function where you can look up an herb, and then select interactions and pull up very thorough medication lists. 

University of Maryland Medical Center has some info on common side effects and how to safely use herbal remedies. 

NIH has a search function where you can look up the herb and find credible articles and info on it. 

iMedPub has scholarly journals and articles on herbal medicine.

Elsevier also has scholarly journals and articles on herbal medicine.

Fear

It feels very sad that I developed my craft to help me stop feeling so afraid all the time but I'm just as afraid as i always was.

But I suppose courage is not the absence of fear.

It's moving forward despite of it, just like my ancestors before me.

Walking the Borderline

The hardest thing about being a witch with borderline personality disorder is that you can't follow the path of our ancestoral witches. You can't escape to the forest, the caves and mountains. You can't live your life in relative peace casting spells into the wind. You can't retreat to your hovel, your haven with your pets and familiars.

You have to go out into the world , you have to pretend to be normal. You're told to be your authentic self but are you are met with misunderstanding and scorn. It's so painful out there. Like a constant drops of poison upon the soul.

And it's a hurt no healing spell can solve.

I can't help thinking we weren't supposed to live like this.

The Sacred Grove

My Sacred Grove has been with me as long as I can remember. It's changed, in location, shape, size and colour along with myself.

At the moment it is an island on a great river. Barely bigger than small park. It's always raining except that the sun seems to filter through the clouds and tree's. Beyond the island is is golden light and blue water.

In the centre of the grove is a very tall tree. It sits a top a small hill. At the base of the tree is a hollow. Someone has taken the time to sand and varnish the walls. The floor is soft dry moss.

Just outside is a clear pool of water. The bottom is covered in gold coloured stones. The water catches the pink sunlight.

It's here I cast my spells into the wind. Waist deep in water I send out my power causing ripples to shimmer across the surface of the pond.
