biologically nonhuman & transspecies wolf (canis lupus, unknown subspecies) identified as 355M. more affectionately referred to as mangia or mange. please only refer to me with it/he pronouns and as a canine - not a human. i have a mate <3
been participating the nonhuman community since 2013.
i will occasionally post nsfw - see below for taglist. i am sex/kink positive, pro bodily autonomy and modification. minors can interact but please don't dm me.
A reminder: Identity doesn't have to make sense at all. Identity just is. And if it's not holding up with your ideas of identity, that's fine. As long as it doesn't harm you, why making a fuss? Keep calm and move on.
feeling so so sappy over my mutuals today. some of us have been friends for a bit now and. it nice to say the least. i have many acquaintances offline but not many friends. and not any that understand (or know) about me being an animal. so thank u
thank you to my mutuals - MY FRIENDS - for sticking around even when i switch blogs like clothes. we are so many miles apart but at least we can all congregate together on tumblr dot clam.
A group of radio-collared canines has begun unexpectedly establishing itself amongst the community. What originally started as lone dispersals in similar environments has morphed into an accepting family. Their loudly-howled songs can be heard from across state lines, their territory encompassing a wide variety of things for them to do with one another. Researches have started to refer to this group as the ROGUE CANYON PACK.
FEATURES: System and fictionkin accessible, misceverse-esque hierarchy, roles (for colors, ones age, ones pronouns, etc), introduction channels for all packmates, pup-friendly channels, personal vent channels, and much more.
RULES: Must be bodily 16+ for every canines comfort. Any canines who use radio-collar identification numbers (or are, at the very least, genuinely interested in the topic) are permitted. Leave human discourse of all kinds at the edge of the territory or you will be run off by the pack.

just gonna leave this and this here can you guys watch it for me...
"Zayner, who has a PhD in biochemistry from the University of Chicago, told BuzzFeed News that he started self-experimenting with CRISPR in his garage last summer. In one case, he injected the gene for green fluorescence, also known as the gene that makes jellyfish light up. He didn’t start glowing, but he sent a chunk of his skin to a biotech company for analysis, and it confirmed that the gene had taken hold in his cells."
"In February 2016, Zayner attempted a full body microbiome transplant on himself, including a faecal transplant, to experiment with microbiome engineering. The microbiome from the donor’s faeces was successfully transplanted, according to DNA sequencing done on his samples. This experiment was documented and turned into the short documentary film, ‘Gut Hack."
Read this post recently and had some thoughts about it, but OP wasn't a fan of keeping my comments up, so. here we go! This was certainly an interesting read, even if it wasn't something I agreed with in the end.
My responses will get cleaned up and thrown in the reblogs for ease of reading. this was a good thought experiment- and I even enjoyed the discussion with OP and a few of the other folks I ended up chatting with too. Too bad im blocked to high heaven now but hey! life goes on xD
I'd love to continue the discussion in the comments if any of yall wanna keep it going too- discussing the dangers of the online community and ways to prevent those dangers is right up my alley. I remember the early days of the online wild west and wanna prevent that for as many young/new/vulnerable nonhumans as I can. Please don't harass or attack OP either, they've just got their own framework of beleifs and are simply expressing it on their own blog.
marking 'beleif' as the problem universally while ignoring the content, affect, and context of those beleifs is just a far too flat take on something as huge and complicated as the concept of beleif. saying you do not have any, or have reduced beleifs because of your trauma is fine- but that isnt the state of a well-adjusted person. having absolutely no beleifs prevents you from being wrong, sure. but it also prevents you from being an individual with a functioning analytical brain. beleifs arent always all-or-nothing either. most beleifs sit comfortably in the 'well, this is probably true!' range until theyre inevitably corrected by new information. beleifs, culture, and the objective+subjective truths we learn about the world as we grow and change is a cornerstone of human development, the basis of learning. being wrong is part of being right, eventually- and removing the ability to beleive (not blindly, but reasonably + with evidence) or talk about our beleifs as core parts of who we are strips us of a huge chunk of the human experience. de-centralizing *beleifs* in favour of *experience* doesnt actually fix the problem either, because your experiences are also fully subjective. if you interpret your mental shifts as nonhuman, at all, you're really not that much different than someone who thinks they can physically change. You've got the same amount of proof as they do: which is Zilch.
Besides- how is it that you able to interpret your own nonhumanity with any level of accuracy, while the rest of us stupid schulbs are apparently just coasting by on 'well i think so, so it must be true!' You clearly beleive that on some level youre a telepathic pheonix-wolf. how is that *not* in the realm of subjective truth? What is more emperical/objective about being a phoenix on a a mental level, than being a dog on a spiritual one? genuinely? id love to know where that line gets drawn and why and where some therians are emperically sound and others aren't. as far as I knew, all we actually have is our own interpretations/beleifs/experiences/cultures. I genuinely would love to know what makes OP so sure that their 'mental shifts' to a more quiet, pictures-only, reducded-beleif thought process is "emperical" therianthropy and evidence of their wolfishness, and not just a trauma response from being raised in a situation where having ones own beleifs was punished. Its not up to me to decide that, but it does go to show the hypocrisy on display.
From the outside, I genuinely cannot tell why they seem to think their therianthopy lives in the realm of emperisicm and almost everyone elses' is just the product of confirmation bias.
i have also since been blocked. despite being relatively constructive throughout and providing sources that would strengthen their argument. i think to argue that you are trying to prevent a cult from forming in the community is disingenuous when you also block all critique. that’s an echo chamber you’re building.
i think for baumarius to also state it was “actually just me sharing my personal philosophy” is untrue when, in a response to aestherians they stated they went in an changed the coined definition of xenogender to their own on a fandom wiki, then a few breaths later state they were not "well versed" with the trans community. fandom wiki is not the end all be all of information of course, and the definition has since been changed back to the original, but i think my point still stands.
easy way to make yourself look more reputable: block all dissenting voices.
Weird pattern I keep noticing in nonhuman spaces so I'd like to point this out.
You can't wear collars, silicone tails, puphood/half muzzles & harnesses and be against kink/BDSM. Thats just not how it works.
You can wear all that stuff for non-sexual reasons, but you need to remember that that stuff belongs to the kink community, and you need to respect the origins and history of what you are wearing.
Show tails (non plug silicone tails) originated from the pet play/kink scene, for the love of god DO NOT WEAR ONE if you're going to hate on pet play.
and if you pull the "I'm a minor!" thing, then don't fucking wear something so heavily associated with kink culture!
augh, some of y'all are giving me gray hairs on my muzzle
even the paper cat mask bases people use for “therian masks” is originated from the history of kink / perversion* !
the design’s actual name is called “gnaga”, and it was first recorded in 16th century Venice, Italy:

* (and when i say “perversion” here i’m not saying in a moral judgement way. it’s a neutral, nonsexually-inclusive descriptor too, and we should normalize also understanding that word on that level even tho yes it’s still more colloquially sexual first. cuz this is supposed to be a community that understands how just bc you’re “different” or “deviant” doesn’t mean you oughta be demonized !
like for example, asexuality is technically also “perverse”for you not having sexual attraction when allocishet norms expect you to—which are the same norms that persecute allo-queer people for actually having sexual attraction but not where it’s expected. tangent over send post—)
Radio Collar IDs: What Are They, Meaning Behind Them, and How to Create Your Own
I have received several questions about what the ID in my name means and how to make your own, so I am compiling all information into one post instead of answering multiple asks with the same information.
Please note that all information in this post is subject to change.
Let me know if any information is incorrect/should be edited, as well as if you would like your post to be removed/added from this post!
What is the number/ID in your name?
The number or ID in my name, as well in many others, signifies that I am radio collared. The number is a radio collar ID.
What is a radio collar?
Radio collars are a collar that goes around an animal's neck or body to monitor activity or movement. They are used by scientists and researchers globally to help monitor and research animals. Radio collars were created in the late 20th century and were popularized due to the creation and evolution of GPS, making information from the collars much more accurate than previous technologies, like VHF, though VHF is still used. Now, with even better technologies, research opportunities are both more accessible and more accurate than ever. Radio collars help scientists to monitor an animal’s territory, population size, migration routes or change in habitat. Radio or tracking collars are particularly useful in the monitoring of critically endangered species. One of the most famous examples of radio collaring an endangered species is the story of reintroduction of wolves in Yellowstone, which you can read about here.
Why does the radio collar have a specific ID?
The ID is for telling animals apart. When an animal is radio collared, they are given one, unique and specific ID number that will serve as their name or identifying factor until their death. Generally, ID numbers are not reused and are unique to the one animal. They are not reused to maintain clarity for researchers. There will be more about what the specific numbers/letters in the IDs signify below, see "How do I create my own radio collar ID".
Are radio collar IDs only for wolves?
No, not at all. Many animals, though primarily large mammals, can be radio collared. Generally, animals are collared around their necks, although some are collared on different limbs, such as legs. Although one of the most famous examples of radio-collaring comes from wolves in Yellowstone National Park, animals such as lions, or even elk and deer are often collared by wildlife professionals. Any animal in which a radio collar would fit could theoretically be radio collared, and thus have a radio collar ID.
Are radio collar IDs only used for wild animals?
No. Many captive kept animals are also known as IDs and while depending on land/enclosure size, a collar may not be necessary to track the animal down, many scientists still know them by a sequence of numbers. However, if the animal has an extremely large territory while still being in captivity, a collar may be used to monitor movements.
How do I create my own radio collar ID?
There is no single way to create one, however I will try to offer multiple options.
(Please note that none of these are my original ideas! I will do my best to cite others who have similar posts on creating an ID, similarly, if you have another strategy/idea and would like it to be added, please contact me.)
1. Use the first two digits of the year you awakened, ex: 2026, for the first two numbers. For the next two numbers, use the last digits two of your birth year, ex: 1952. Finally, include a letter at the end that you feel aligns with your orientation: M (male) F (female) A/X (gender neutral/other). Using the examples, the final ID would be 2052X.
other posts about the making of this ID: here (@wulfbones), here, (@astrakaninez)
2. Some researchers sort by state or country, so some IDs will have prefixes such as NY2052X or NY40M, indicating said animal is in/from New York.
3. Similarly to IDs being sorted by state/country, many are more specific and are sorted by region or habitat. For example, in a study made about Red Wolf recovery, there were two main populations: Island Propagation Site, and Great Smoky Mountains National Parks. The habitat the radio collared wolves lived in determined part of their IDs, 'I' correlating to Island Propagation Site while 'S' linked to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. This could be seen as: S2052X, or I40M. (Using example numbers).
4. There are also systems counted by population, which would generally start at zero and move up as said animal population increased. For example, if you were the 40th male elk in the region, your radio collar ID could be 40M.
5. Just use numbers you feel resonate with you or you like, ending with an M, F or A/X.
Something to keep in mind: generally male animals with ID collars have odd numbers, while females have even, although this is not always the case.
I have also found that usually uppercase M, F, X/A indicates adulthood, while lowercase (m, f, a/x) can indicate that the animal is a juvenile. Some other sources use a 'J' (juvenile) or an 'A', to signify a breeding pair. A 'C' in the ID can also signal that the collared animal is in captivity. Both the 'J', 'C' and 'A' are generally put in front, while the sex is generally last. An example of this would be J40F, which would signify a juvenile, female animal, that is the 40th of its kind in the area/population.

I would also like to acknowledge and emphasize both the meaning and importance of a radio collared ID. Although some animals, such as myself, have another name that they may be called, to many who use ID numbers, those are their names. While yes, IDs are fun to create and play around with, it is also important to realize that both radio collars and the IDs that come with them are very meaningful and important to many and should be given respect.
