— 𝐈𝐅 𝐈𝐓 were up to her, things would be no different this day – in fact, dolores may be bringing a meal to kit as he rests in bed. heaven knows the man deserves it, with all that he does in a day. nevertheless, dolores would be lying if she claimed not to be touched by the gesture; oh, ‘touched’ is no where near an adequate description. before the day even truly begins with breakfast, dolores is already bestowing kit with a lingering kiss of gratitude, and gently caressing her thumb over his jawline. when she pulls back, her grin is stretched from ear to ear, and there is a glimmer of a joyful tear evident in her eye because of the sunlight pouring into the room.

— “𝐎𝐇, 𝐃𝐀𝐑𝐋𝐈𝐍𝐆! you shouldn’t have,” dolores cannot help herself; she goes in for another embrace; “you’re so sweet to me. did you already eat, sweetheart? you must be hungry after all this work.”  

One of the things Kit loved about Dolores was her breathtaking smile and seeing it plastered on her beautiful features just now, put a smile of his own on his face. “Don’t worry ‘bout me.” He had gotten up extra early to not only grab a bite to eat, but make sure he had everything in place for Dolores’ birthday and of course to make her breakfast. “Today’s all ‘bout you.” He wasn’t surprised to see her fretting over him as well; it had always been like that with the two of them --- they had always been more concerned over the other’s well - being instead of their own.  

Sitting down next to her, he took her hand in his and brought it up to his lips placing a gentle kiss. “You deserve the world. And if I could make that happen, I’d do it in a heartbeat.” But giving Dolores the world was easier said than done. For now, Kit would do what he could. “And until I can figure out how to do that, I’m gonna have to settle for givin’ you what I can in the meantime.”

i. love. these. two. what an otp. from the very beginning of this blog, when i first built up dolores’s asylum verse, i saw parallels to kit’s story in asylum. two innocent, well meaning people accused of a horrible crime, and are put through hell as they try to clear their name. honestly? i think the reason i adore this ship so much is because of how perfectly these two are capable of understanding one another, because they’ve both suffered a similar, specific trauma. 

she can’t relate to being abducted, and he can’t relate to nearly dying in childbirth – only to have the baby taken away – but they both know what’s it’s like to have your name dragged through the mud, as you mourn someone you love in an insane asylum. that key understanding of one another is why i? love the picture of them building a life together post briarcliff. even when the stress of literally rebuilding their entire lives kicks in, they know how to comfort one another, they know what that feeling is like.

dolores also adores kit, and genuinely thinks he is one of the kindest, strongest, and bravest people that she has met in her whole life. she can’t imagine anyone else she would want to make a second chance at a life with. she can’t imagine doing anything post-briarcliff without him, frankly. the idea alone is devastating. let’s just say she would not react well at all to his second abduction – that would destroy her completely.

❝ don’t tell anyone, but i’ve brought you something, ❞   sister jude will have her head if she hears DOLORES is sneaking in items for the patients, but kit deserves it. it’s nothing much, nothing that is going to get him in trouble later if rooms are searched, but hopefully it brightens her spirits. she pulls the man around the corner and digs deep in HER POCKET, before pulling out a candy bar, like one that may be found at the gas station kit used to work at.

brows furrowed when she pulled him aside, curiosity getting the better of him. it was only when she pulled out the candy bar, that kit’s eyes lit up before they darted to his surroundings and then back at the candy bar. it had been so long since he had had candy or anything sweet, the food ( if it could even be called that ) that was served in the asylum lacked any kind of flavor.  “you didn’t have to do this.” but dolores had been nothing but kind to him, so the gesture was not at all surprising. reaching for the candy bar ( even the feel of it had felt foreign against his hands ), he gave dolores a grateful smile. “thank you, dolores. y’don’t know how much this means to me.”

A CONCEPT: in dolores’s briarcliff nurse au, when kit is released, she just ? takes him home, feeds him as much as she can, gives him her fiancé’s old clothes ( leroy can Die in this verse bc he’s in the way of my ship & i’m petty ), and helps him CLEAN UP his house until he’s ready to move in. then she moves in with him. @heartkind

truth was, when burt  ORIGINALLY asked  finn  to   run the shop – he was nervous cause it seemed like a lot of RESPONSIBILITY. and  he  didn't  wanna  let him DOWN.  all he ever wanted to do this was  make his mother and father PROUD.   but leading the glee club, like ACTUALLY running it ? it wasn’t the SAME. HOW was he, a nineteen year old fit to be a teacher ? the reluctantness   he  held  was  OVERBEARING.  “  your weird ’ fate ’ analogy is creepin’ me out, man. “  a look is exchanged towards artie. “ – I’m not even a  REAL teacher. “  

“Maybe not, but that doesn’t mean you can’t become one in the future.” Artie had always held a huge admiration for Finn, ever since that day when he saved him from the port-a-potty. Finn Hudson was his hero and that was something that was never going to change. “Besides, it’s only temporary. Mr. Schue will be back after sectionals and you can come back to working here or whatever it is you decide to do.” He didn’t want for Finn to cast it off because he didn’t think he had what it took.  “Look, I’m just asking you to give it a chance. Who knows, maybe you’ll help one of the newbies like Mr. Schue helped us or like the way you’ve helped me countless times.”

with the turn of her head, dolores catches kit’s thumb, and presses a kiss to its pad;   ❝ two or three sounds wonderful to me, ❞   it’s near instinctive for her to says, ‘i’ve ALWAYS wanted four’, until she stops herself … somewhere out there is her daughter, her baby, her firstborn. yes, THREE is fine … she already has a baby out there, somewhere;   ❝ they’d be so lucky, to have you as a father, ❞   she presses a kiss to kit’s chin,   ❝ when … when we were at briarcliff, kit, i had always imagined – when my baby was born, i wanted you to BE THERE, as a father … ❞   she stops herself, before she becomes too sad, and tears begin to fall.

“i would have loved her if she were my own.” he had already cared a great deal about her when dolores had been carrying her, not only worried for dolores’ well - being but the baby’s as well; the asylum hadn’t been the best place to carry and deliver a baby. “she would’ve been so loved and cared for here, by the both of us.” there had been something else he had wanted to say, but it wasn’t exactly the appropriate time to bring it up, so he moved it to the back of his mind and offered dolores a comforting pat. “we should finish eatin’, don’t want this delicious food you’ve made to get cold.”

❝ how did you get this bruise under your eye ? ❞   dr, thredson, she’s been told, was worried ABOUT the battered state kit showed up in at their last meeting. hence mr. walker being sent to the infirmary – maria has seen him in here before, but she’s never worked with the infamous “bloody face” killer one on one herself. internally, she’s nervous, BUT the girl wears a professional facade.

❝ was this from A FIGHT ? ❞   older nurses that are not so fresh faced have told maria that mr. walker found himself in a scuffle on his very first day at briarcliff. needless to say, with this reputation proceeding him, maria is surprised she is the only one in the room WITH the accused murderer.

“in case you haven’t heard, i’m not exactly a fan favorite ‘round here.” people were always quick to remind him of the crimes he was falsely accused of committing. kit, of course, had stood his ground and denied those heinous crimes that he was being accused of. of course, it was hard for anyone to believe him when his recount of the night was one that probably would have came from someone who wasn’t exactly sane.

“it doesn’t matter how i got the bruise, it ain’t the first time i’ve gotten one since i was brought here and it probably won’t be the last either.” no one in the asylum was treated fair, but it seemed as if he had always gotten the worse of it.

                     she wasn’t sure what to say after the unexpected wedding. she had a sneaking suspicion that the children had tricked them on purpose. might they have guessed at wendy’s secret feelings for their father? and now, the pair had run off to prepare the reception, leaving wendy and kit alone! ❛ well, i suppose you’re stuck with me now. ❜ she teased, ignoring the telltale heat of her cheeks that signified she must be blushing. it was just A KISS on kit’s cheek to seal the ceremony, nothing more, and yet so much!

well unexpectedly getting married to wendy wasn’t on his list of things happening today, but here they both were, unofficially married. he had to hand it to the kids ( he had always known they were very bright for their age, but this was something else ), they had done a good job with the wedding and were sure to do it again with the reception they were currently preparing for.  a smile that matched hers was plastered on his face. “i can’t think of a better person to get myself stuck to, if i’m bein’ honest.” with the kids’ antics as of late, kit wondered if they knew about his feelings for wendy. and if they did, was this their way of saying they approved? “you make a beautiful bride, miss wendy.”

blaine couldn’t help the huge grin that broke across his face. he bowed his head shyly but inched  closer  to her as they walked companionably arm in arm.  “ worrying myself over the test in physics tomorrow. i haven’t even figured out what song to sing for mr. schue’s assignment this week, ” he muttered, sounding momentarily distracted.  “ what about you? by the way you look really  pretty  today. ”

“I’ve been stressing over it too, but I’m sure you’ll be fine.” She patted his arm with her other hand, in a reassuring gesture. She knew all too well the worries that came with an impending exam, regardless of how prepared you were or not. More often than not, it was just worrying over nothing but there had been times where the material was tougher than others, the exam results could go in any way. “If you want, you can come over to my house tonight and we can study together. We can go over a list of songs too.” That way, they could quiz each other and hopefully be a little more confident when they walked into class tomorrow. “Oh. Hush.” A playful smack to his arm at his compliment. “Are you trying to butter me up?”
