She was waiting for Julius to get off work, or finish his quota for the day when she decided to go off into the nearby forest to pick some berries. She planned on making a nice tart to surprise the clockmaker with, perhaps they could enjoy it with a nice cup of coffee.

Amidst her thoughts, they were rudely interrupted when a pair of hands came sneaking up behind her. Robbing her of her eyesight, the girl immediately yelped. “GOD!!! alsdkjfasdflkj!” Who!?

Thrusting her elbow back, the woman shouted in horror. “Unhand me! Ha—” Falling silent the blonde narrowed her eyes.

“I hope you stay lost permanently one of these days… Ace” How dare he sneak up on her like that.

With her guess, he finally released her proper, backing away.

“Oh, you don’t really mean that!” Hearty laughter spilled from his lips even as the Knight rubbed at his stomach. Not that it had hurt, really, but the sensation had still registered to him.

“Ahh, to think I was so happy to see you. I couldn’t help myself, you know! You really need to keep your guard up!” Still, incurring her ire had been absolutely worth the reaction he had gotten out of her. More importantly now,

“How did you know it was me? I didn’t think my voice would have been enough of a tell~” At least not from the resulting grunt from her little struggle anyways.

Nightmare eyes Ace suspiciously as if he wasn’t completely convinced that the knight was trying to be nice for once. “… Are you sure this isn’t poisoned or anything?” He takes the cupcake, turning it as he examines it all over. He even sniffed it. It smelled like a cupcake, it looked like a cupcake, and there was no evidence of any… unnecessary tampering. He did say he had done it for Alice, so in that spirit..

He takes a bite, only to immediately spat it out at the taste. He should have figured as much, this was Ace after all. “Eww! This is revolting! cough- I’ll never get the taste of mud out of my mouth again!”

The more serious expression melted away as hearty laughter would spill from his lips. “Ahh, poor little Bagworm, I didn’t think you’d fall for it so easy! It really is far easier to get you when Lizard’s not around, innit? Oh, that’s not a good sign!”

It wasn’t as fun he’ll admit, as instigating the other in dueling him, but this reaction he got was still worth the effort in getting. “Ahaha, you really should have shown known better. Now that I think of it, where is Alice, anyways? Thought she would have run right in as soon as she heard you give a yell.”
