In fact I hate myself
when i watch other people my age, i see that they have this kind of effortless way about them that i don’t think i’ll ever have. the way they talk to each other and the way they go out and pursue what interests them without having to think twice about it. the way they know how to conduct themselves, the way it all comes so naturally to them, like breathing or swimming or riding a bike. it’s like they all have something ingrained in them that i just don’t have, and it’s so embarrassing and it’s fucking killing me. i wish i knew how to be okay.
Dissociative culture is saying something then 0.1 seconds later completely forgetting you said anything.
I’ve just had the worst flashback of the year so far and ahahahahah I want to chop my boobs off I want to cut my ribs open I want to set myself on fire
can you ever really be strangers with someone that has seen the best and worst of you…?

can we talk about the ugly parts of bpd? like the really ugly parts? fits of anger so intense you taste bile, it’s like you can actually see red, you want to punch a wall and the only thing stopping you is that you can’t get yourself to get out of bed. being unable to stop yourself from crying, choking on your tears, coughing, sobbing into your pillow, waking up the next morning and your eyes still sting. splitting on your fp so fucking bad that you’re put into a state of dissociation that lasts for days, the only emotion you can remember is guilt.
normalize feeling these things. please. if i had known it was okay to ask for help i would have done so a lot sooner.
there’s not really much discussion of child neglect on here so i guess i have to do it
p l e a s e don’t shame neglect survivors for not knowing “basic” things like how to eat a balanced diet, when to go to the doctor, how to drive, etc. you know these things (usually) because a caring adult taught them to you. we didn’t have that. we often enter adulthood knowing jack shit about how to take care of ourselves. we know we’re missing information, and we feel so fucking lost.
it’s okay to, if you have a friend who’s experienced neglect, try and help them learn how to take care of themselves. saying things like “hey, do you think you could try to eat at least one vegetable per day?” or “that infection looks pretty bad, do you want to go to a doctor?” is genuinely helpful. but belittling us for not already knowing these things is completely unproductive and unnecessarily cruel.
don’t be a dick to survivors.
xx you will be fine

“You’re not a bad person for the ways you tried to kill your sadness.”
