“the sun’s coming up, we should head back” (chat noir to spoiler)

at first, stephanie would only sneak out every other night for patrol. damian insisted doing it too often would raise suspicion – and while she would normally agree, happy to hang back at camp with the other counselors... spoiler’s new vigilante companion has her donning the cape and mask every time night falls.

even in the dark, she never fails to effortlessly spot chat noir. the other’s blonde hair stands out plenty, but still steph dares to wonder if maybe, just maybe, chat noir makes herself easy to find in return – a dangerous move for someone who should favor stealth, admittedly, but she would have always have spoiler in her corner to keep her safe.

with tonight being quiet for a change, they’re allowed to simply enjoy each other’s company, exchange jokes and laughs ( and perhaps a few looks ). it almost stuns her when chat noir points out the passage of time, yanking them back to reality so suddenly.

oh. sometimes it was so easy to forget they only had these few stolen moments.

“ what, are you a vampire or something now? ” steph hides behind her humor as usual, a shameless attempt to hide her disappointment and perhaps distract chat noir into staying a little longer. she doesn’t even bother to pretend to get up from her sitting position, leg dangling off the billboard sign they’re perched on. “ you gotta tell me if you are, it’s the polite thing to do. ” she makes a show of putting a hand over her already covered neck, smile palpable even with her mask on. “ i don’t wanna have to use my karate moves on you. ”
