my little sister and I have the same parents and grew up in the same house and ate the same food for our entire lives. I was always fatter. I was more active, too. one of my favorite pastimes in high school was running stairs. I would spend hours at a time running up and down our basement stairs and across the length of our basement. When I got tired I would pace. stayed fat. I also ran track and cross country at school. stayed fat. my sister stayed thin.

people can accept that there are certain people who will be thin no matter what they eat or do. they refuse to accept that there are people who will be fat no matter what they eat or do. so yeah. eat however much you want of whatever you want, whenever you want, wherever you want!! you do NOT have that much control over your body, and it's not your job to spend your one precious life becoming as small as you can.

There are multiple chapters that are set in hospitals where the characters are attempting to recover from injuries that never fully heal. I must once again stress that my experience in WWI was perfectly normal.

There is a giant horrible mudplain full of unrecoverable and perfectly preserved dead bodies that the characters have to walk through in a land where the air is poisoned gas, and on a compLETELY UNRELATED NOTE: WWI WAS TOTALLY FINE AND NORMAL!!

My biggest pet peeve is when authors write the accent, you know like they write a sentence in a "scottish" accent and then i cannot UNDERSTAND ANYTHING BECAUSE ENGLISH IN NOT MY MOTHER TONGUE so I have to sit there and try to say the fucking sentence OUT LOUD 10 times to try and understand what it's supposed to say

Not at all, it's very common

A little surprised, but wouldn't immediately assume a connection

I would be surprised and assume there was some relation

I would be very surprised that I *hadn't* met this person, we must be related
