yk sometimes I look at noel's old interviews and I think liam wasn't angry enough but I'll get killed for saying that lol
I do wish we could make it a little more socially acceptable to wander the streets at night weeping inconsolably I feel like that would have a great catharsis factor for a lot of people
Chris Helme (The Seahorses frontman) talking about meeting Liam and Noel in the 90s
"I remember the dynamics between Noel and Liam, where Liam was actually really lovely, for what I remember, a really nice lad. And his brother will bullied him, and winding up and doing kinda this coercive control bullshit, which is probably a bit of a trendy buzz word but that's what exactly pretty much what it was."

I'm still new to this side of tumblr so if I say something stupid or out of touch just inform me immediately...pretty please 😊
ok but can we talk about the staggering grooming vibes of the tokyo kiss
They are definitely both obsessed with each other, but Noel’s obsession is so deeply rooted and sinister that he should probably be in prison right now.
this lifetime is very bizarre and then youre not even supposed to also be bizarre. Ok
now let’s see him getting triggered during sex
when the fanartist draws ur ship growing old together but you lowkey envisioned them as dying tragically at 27 after a 5 year substance abuse spiral 😭😭😭

okay man
Noel Gallagher is out there having sex only a daughter could love
last night was watching a youtube video w my boyfriend where this woman was talking abt how it's ok to depict rape in fiction obviously but it has to be distressing for the reader and v clear that the rape is not in any way being romanticized i mean i know i talk abt this all the time on here but sometimes you just want to settle in with your romanticized depiction of rape. sometimes you want to have fun with it and you don't want to be reminded THIS IS WRONG by the author every page you want to be like awwww when the rapist and the victim fall in love <3 when the victim has to enjoy it bc there's no choice <3 like sorry We Live in a Society where rape is inescapable for many ppl ofc there are going to be cultural artifacts that reflect that inescapability by romanticizing the cage
I think fundamentally, Noel Gallagher presenting to the world as heterosexual is the thing that grants his behaviour with his brother a shield of invisibility and makes everyone turn a blind eye to everything he says and does to Liam, pushing it into the realm of innocent and fraternal. I think we have all said at some point that if they were brother and sister, people would've raised eyebrows, and other brothers didn't really behave with each other in this way.
People often deflected saying, well they're not normal people, that's the showbiz rock n roll world (which is true). But even rockstars who are a bit freer and handsy like that do it to their friends, not their actual siblings.
There were brothers in rock music that fought much more fiercely and violently than Noel and Liam, who according to people behind the scenes, were shocked at seeing the brothers in The Black Crowes fight on their 2001 tour because Noel and Liam were fairly tame and gentle with each other, all things considered. Those Robinson brothers didn't act like Noel and Liam.
People say oh it's a northern thing. It's an 80s thing. It's how they show affection. There were 80s northern bands that were fucked to five planes higher than Oasis on drugs and they didn't act like that. Did Shaun and Paul Ryder act like Noel and Liam? Nope. And my god, the drugs were a problem in the Happy Mondays. So I wouldn't necessarily put it down to being a northern thing either. That's just Noel and Liam.
I think opening the world to the idea that Noel Gallagher may be interested in men exposes a whole other thing he would rather not talk about. It makes it possible to see his and Liam's relationship in different, previously unthinkable ways. The shield of invisibility, that plausible deniability is lost. It's not that I don't think he might be bisexual, I think he has definitely said as much as he can about being into men without explicitly coming out. So basically being in the closet is not so much about hiding gayness, but it might well be about throwing anyone off thinking too closely about his and Liam's relationship.
Sometimes I think also about all Liam’s actions that have codified this band as so strongly heterosexual and a certain kind of masculine that believing the Oasis hooligan narrative makes it impossible not to discard and reject anything you see that’s plainly contrary to your mental image of the brothers/Oasis. While I’m not saying Liam didn’t live the hooligan life, because he certainly did, maybe here too his actions protected Noel, him and the nature of their dynamic and relationship. Once again. Mutual protectorate.
yall gotta be nicer about m/f bc sometimes u guys like the blandest gay sutff ive ever seen in my life
