Day 1
I don't know if anyone else has this problem, but I feel like I need to let my ideas marinate for a bit before I write them down, like there is only so much my brain can think in one sitting so then I just stretch thinking throughout days at a time. I know when an idea clicks, like it makes sense and solves a plot hole I've been thinking about or adds a new layer to my story. But I can't just sit and think about them, like they need to come naturally.
So when I decided to write this book, I knew it would take time. Like I had a very VERY vague idea of where this was going and some scenes and little things I knew I wanted throughout. The plot came to me across maybe two weeks, bit by bit in a few brainstorming sessions and others just at random parts of the day. I still struggle to sit down and plot or develop the story because I just get stuck.
I fear this will take forever, I don't know how to force myself into actually doing it without literally scarring myself off with the pressure. But well, I don't have a deadline so it can take as long as it needs.
normalise writing dialogue so dramatic and self-indulgent it makes shakespeare’s monologues look like tweets.
ya gotta stop caring what people think and start being extremely weird. but never cruel. i think that might save you

sometimes you need dialogue tags and don't want to use the same four
Becoming "that girl" and the trap of materialism
Work on your inner self before making any external changes.
It's easy to believe that the next new thing you acquire, whether that be clothes, beauty procedures etc will be the thing to solve all your problems in life. But, it probably won't. All it will be is a drain on your resources and you will still be insecure, just with more stuff. This is not to say you can't buy those things, but to be mindful of the reason why you're buying them. Do you actually want it? Or have you been led to believe you want it, by marketing, social media or what other people are doing?
Even if you don't necessarily like what you see in the mirror, it's important to have love for yourself regardless. At the end of the day, all our bodies are is a vessel for us to inhabit. Despite our best efforts, we are not always going to be looking 100% because life constantly throws stuff at us. There will be times we are so busy we don't eat as well as we should, or stress may impact our appearance through weight gain, acne or bloating. If we go seeking validation for this vessel from the outer world, we make ourselves vulnerable to attracting bad people/energy into our lives. If we are mentally in tune with ourselves, this reflects into our outer appearance and we cannot be shaken by external influences.
You can love yourself and think you'd look objectively better with a certain procedure or a different weight. You can love yourself and want to be different than the person you are currently. A desire for improvement that stems from your love of self is stable and patient. This is important because real change doesn't happen overnight. If you lack this self love, you cannot be objective about yourself and will end up in a never-ending series of 'quick-fix' changes in the impossible pursuit of perfection that will leave you worse off in the long run.
be busy. busy not checking messages. busy reading those books you never started or finished. busy having a good night of sleep. busy taking care of yourself and your skin. busy moving your body. busy helping your community. busy reflecting on your life and what you can improve. busy doing things aside from the capitalistic viewpoint of “productivity.” busy slowing down.

"How do you write such realistic dialogue-" I TALK TO MYSELF. I TALK TO MYSELF AND I PRETEND I AM THE ONE SAYING THE LINE. LIKE SANITY IS SLOWLY SLIPPING FROM BETWEEN MY FINGERS WITH EVERY MEASLY WORD THEY TYPE OUT. THAT IS HOW.
I want everyone to know that this is me every time someone drops a comment on something I've written:
the problem with reading and writing leading to a strong vocabulary is that you tend to know the vibe of words instead of their meanings.
if I used this word in a sentence, would it make sense? absolutely. if you asked me what it meant, could I tell you? absolutely not.
me rn
i want to write something, just literally anything but every time i write a sentence i’m like ‘well, now i want to work on this other project’. it’s a constant loop of idea after idea and nothing finished. why can’t i just work on one project and FINISH IT???
''what if my writing isn't good eno--'' what if it's a reflection of your soul. what if it has a place in this world. what if you write it anyway
write unpublishable things. it's good for you.
