I want to see pining!Conner who gets so distracted by Tim sometimes that he forgets his own strength? Like for instance he’s secretly checking out Tim and thinking oh…that man is beautiful. Subconsciously, he starts to lean back and put his hand on a handrail. But he forgets to hold back his strength because he’s so distracted by Tim so he goes right through it and stumbles into the wall, banging his head. Tim turns around like…”Conner, you okay???” And Conner’s face turns bright red as he says “hmm yeah I’m fine” completely unconvincingly. As he walks away, Tim notices the new dent in the wall formed by Conner’s head and the broken handrail and just sighs and calls the repairman.
The next time it happens, they’re walking into a room and Conner decides that he wants to be a chivalrous gentleman and rushes forward to open the door for Tim. But in his excitement, he accidentally rips the door off of its hinges and he’s just standing there, holding the entire door up by the knob like “uhhh…oops?” Tim snickers as Conner tries his best to “fix” it by realigning the door in the doorframe but to no avail.
Another time it happens when it’s Conner’s turn to wash the dishes. He’s internally grumbling about having to clean up everything all by himself when Tim walks in. To Conner, it’s like one of those movie moments where time slows down and I Wanna Know What Love Is plays in the background. Tim looks as though he had just gotten out of the shower so his skin is glistening with the remnants of water that were still clinging to him. He also did not have a shirt on.
Conner only snaps out of it when he hears Tim calling his name. He looks down to see that he had completely shattered the plate that he had been washing. All that was left was a single shard that was clutched in his right hand. Again, Conner’s face turns bright red and he’s like “uhhhhh.” Then Tim says, “sorry, I didn’t mean to startle you, I just couldn’t find a shirt and I thought I might’ve left my laundry around here.” Conner can’t even verbalize any words he just says, “ahh uhhh yeah uhhh.”
When Tim finally asks Conner out, he jokes about all of the property damage Conner has been causing and how it was not subtle at all. But that’s actually why Tim got up the courage to ask out Conner because he realized that Conner reciprocated Tim’s feelings through all of the moments of distraction. All it cost for the two of them to finally get their pining dumbasses together was a handrail, a door, and a plate. Could’ve been worse.
