A Knock, Knock, Knocking
continued from |here|
The Lan Head disciple had placed his sword across his back as he stepped forward to take a closer look. Clearly not touching the mirror in front of him. That would be a terrible idea after all. Lilac eyes took in the craftsmanship and the details of the silver frame. It LOOKED like something that would be terrible. There were demons carved into the relief of the item and much like a bunny Sizhui scrunched up his nose. His guqin in hand two fingers stroked a string in a circular motion as he spoke softly under his breath, there was something not right about it, but his eyes half fluttered open.
"It's not willing to speak to me, in fact..." he "hesitated "It seems to be asleep." he motioned to the mirror. "What ever is in there is not dead." he confirmed to be clear. His hand swept across the instrument and it vanished back to it's hidden pouch. He glided to his feet. Folding his sleeves around his hands blocking any possibility of skin on silver contact, he pulled it from the wall.
"Let's go over what we know." he said "This family has been experiencing the effects of a haunting, we have verified there is no ghost or spirit." he said organizing his thoughts. Also he was certain that if there had been a ghost, Jingyi would have alerted them to it immediately. "Clearly there are pieces missing from this clan’s story." he mused. "I mean something or someone is trapped in here, if it is not a spirit it is something worse, something that can effect the mentality of those around it. There are two possibilities with that as well." he set it in front of them fluffing his sleeves back out so he could examine the back of the mirror as well. There was clearly a dark spot growing on the wall, where the mirror had been.
"Ah..Demon you think ?" his head was tilted to the side. He moved quietly to Zizhen's side. "Or do you think possession." a finger pointing to the dark veins on the wall. “That could very well be the source of everything but...I am hesitant to trust these people to give us a honest answer.” Sizhui hated to think anything wrong of anyone, he believed fully in the goodness of other, to rise above.
It always hurt when he was proven wrong. Still, if they were having problems with it, had they summoned it, made a pack with it or something darker ?

Abandonment from WWX
He had been to ill to consumed with fever to truly remember it until he went looking for past memories , seeking to find what had been lost. It might have been a small mercy that he had forgotten after all. Lan SiZhui knew what it was like to face hunger, it had taken it's toll on his body. He was not fragile, he had grown up well in Gusu, but he was smaller then other's of his age group. He had been stunted due to hunger all of this had been before he had been given a home in the Burial Mounds.
They had been ushered, they had been herded like lamb for the slaughter, they were no longer people, they were less then dogs. Wen was the name attached to them. Even a tiny boy he had been aware of what that meant, it meant they were expendable. Had he not lost Uncle Three, and Aunty Two ? he remembered them but as an older boy it was not well. These were two who had been married and they had been separated by death, it was almost cruel, how thy had fought so hard to stay together only to be separated in the long run. The sensation of abandonment was real, for little Wen Yuan.
Aunt Five, was still very young she had been taking care of A Yuan, she had been kind. She was pretty, he had heard a secret she was suppose to marry into a bigger sect, at least she would have before all of these. The men had come for her, like they had for Cousin One , Four and Six. They had not come back. A Yuan was the only one in the makeshift tent, and Aunt Five had wrapped him up in her heavy coat, she had given him a butterfly and she had shoved him into a bag. A hurried stay there. Had been hissed in his direction, in a tone of affection, fear and concern, all thing that A-Yuan felt. They had trashed the place she had purposefully knocked over the basket with the clothes he was in, but his cry was muffled by her scream.
When he had been able to finally struggle from the basket, there had been no one left. A small A Yuan had stood there sobbing, alone in the dark. Thank goodness for Uncle Ning, he had gathered a little A Yuan up and carried him back to the others. Grandmother had taken the weak boy into her arms and had not let go. They were all starving but somehow she managed to scrape up enough to give him a meal.
Lan Sizhui finished the tale as he remembered it. He was in tears but he shared it with Father Wei, because Father Wei needed to understand something. What he had done for them had been heaven compared to how they had suffered.
"Abandonment can be many things, not just physical." he mused as he dabbed his eyes with his sleeves. "We abandoned our ways, you abandoned the life you could have, the Wen abandoned the Burial Mounds on the off chance they could do something to help...I abandoned the memories because ...because they hurt to much, you have to understand...we all lost something. The best part of this is you can always reclaim it, it might not be n the same fashion, but its there still waiting in a bittersweet sort of way."

goodbye
He stood in the shadow of the Guanyin Temple, so much had happened so quickly and Lan Sizhui had been to preoccupied with his family, with Jin Ling to notice all that had happened. He had spun just in time to see Lan Xichen's blade flash just before it was thrust through Jin GuangYao at first the boy was simply stunned at the action, but then he glanced to Nie Huaisang, who had been to hurt to do anything ? Had he not ? the look of sheer horror etched across Xichen's face told the Head Disciple all that he needed to know, he had ended his Sworn Brother's life.
Sizhui had rushed to his Sect Leader's side his gaze going over the wound. It was not good. When the First Jade struck he struck true. In other words, that was a fatal blow. If he were to pull the frost blade from the wound it would quicken the former Head Cultivator's demise. A hand went over his heart, he could do nothing for those two. They had to play out what ever words needed to be spoken. Instead he moved over to Nie Huaisang and he knelt next to the still youthful Sect Leader. To his knowledge, the man was close to the other.
It wasn't just Jin GuangYao that was going to die today, if the look on his Sect Leader's face said anything, and he felt tears gather. "How is your wound do you need more attention ?" he asked as he swallowed the tears, he heard the movement as well as saw it from the corner of his eye. Lan SiZhui bowed his head and whispered softly "Goodbye." it was hard to tell who he was speaking too. Though when he glanced up he repeated the statement with a different meaning.
"You too should say goodbye...I am not sure how much will be left of either of them.' his tone soft though there were lurking questions behind lilac eyes.

angstmemes:
Be warned that these are very scary sentences. If you can’t handle horror, or get nightmares easily, these sentences probably aren’t for you.
“Of course I don’t want to kill you! I already have!” “Who are you looking at?” “What are you talking about? There’s nobody else in the room… right?” “I’m going to kill you now.” “There’s a knocking sound coming from the mirror.” “There’s someone looking at you through the window.” “I heard someone saying my name when I was in the shower this morning. You weren’t home then, were you?” “Why are you telling me that you’re going to get killed…? You’ve been dead for two years.” “Don’t go downstairs. I heard it call you too, in my voice, but it wasn’t me.” “Why are you making me dinner? We just ate…” “I keep hearing my daughter/son/wife/husband/boy/girlfriend scream every night while I’m wide awake, but they’ve been dead for years.” “What do you mean you didn’t leave this message for me? Then who did?” “There are all these pictures on my phone of me sleeping last night– but there was nobody else home but me. I don’t know what’s going on, but I think that someone– something– is breaking into my house.” “I can hear laughing coming from the attic, but we’re the only ones home…” “Don’t look in the mirror. That reflection isn’t you.” “If you go outside now, they’re going to steal you. They want you.” “I have the feeling that I’m being watched.” “The cat isn’t staring at you… he’s staring behind you.” “I live alone, as you know, but when I woke up last night, I could feel a breathing down my neck.” “I know that the old man who lived next door died, but I hear him talk to himself every day, like he used to.” “Can you see that too? That thing staring at me at the end of the bed?”
Did IRL eat me, yes, yes it did. I had a sudden move sprung on me and so I have been rushing to deal with this! I am still very much here, just a tiny bit sporadic !

The small yelp almost had the other boy jerk his arms away but he remained as he was. His gaze was blocked by the gauzy white. Jingyi was taller then himself. He can feel movement and he knows the other is peeking over his shoulder, there is no lifted gaze just the gentle hug that he is giving him. His face still against the warm white material. He had seen the other's expression early, and the simple feeling of melancholy in this place was enough to prompt him to reach out.
A soft laughter followed the attempted scolding though he was not laughing at Jingyi, he was to kind hearted to do that. "Ah, I was not aware you had forgotten my presence in this place." his words are low gentle and muffled faintly against his back. "This place is filled with half remembered memories, and bittersweet sensations." he answered as though that explained everything. Sizhui, had been playing Inquiry and he knew how terrified of ghosts he was and he did not want him to be frightened. "It is as though the people in this place are stuck in some form of loop, forced to reenact what has happened to them over and over and over again." he whispered "It is sad."
He was not one for touch as a way to express his emotions, in fact he was slower to do so. It never felt odd to touch Jingyi, to reach out to him. He had known him all of his life. Was there something different in the catch of his breath, Sizhui was uncertain. He would always write it off to being worried about the situation at hand. Still, he had seen Senior Wei comfort others with a hug, and that was his intent since Jingyi was and is important to him. The nearness is nice and Sizhui thinks he might like to settle down and hold him for a little while, it is a new thought, a new desire. He won't share it yet, because he still hasn't examined it too closely. He can not see the other disciples face but he can feel the beat of his heart the way he laced his arms around his torso.
"You looked like you could use a hug." he stated his voice clearer since he tipped his head up. "I..I wasn't sure..if..." he is surprised to find himself also a little flush and shy. "Is it unwelcome ?" he asked but does not pull away at the touch of hands against his own. "This place is haunted, but its not a haunting that is harmful, its like the replay of memories, and I am unsure how to help them. I can step into the story, but unlike a conscious of what is happening spirit---I can not help them move on. I may have to ask Senior Wei." he shook his head once. "It's a little taxing when extreme emotion is involved."

WHICH TRAGIC CHARACTER FROM ANCIENT GREEK LITERATURE ARE YOU ?
patroclus
you are patroclus, from the iliad by homer, doomed by fate to be stuck in a love story that has no place on the battlefield. although you always have the best intentions, you have to realize you cannot save everyone. your unwavering loyalty means you often lose yourself in the process of putting others first. take a deep breath, remember who you are, and that you are deserving of the same love you try to put out. you are kind, you are strong, and you give and you give but it is never enough to protect those you love. in the end, it's not even enough to protect yourself
❥ Be unfaithful to a lover
A true look of surprise crossed his features "Jin RuLan." he raised both his brows at the inquiry "You ask questions that you already know the answer to." though maybe he didn't maybe he felt insecure ? Sizhui shook his head at the younger boy. "Never." he stated firmly "I'd sooner die a thousand deaths, then betray someone who entrusts their heart to me." he stated "My love is not fickle, and it does not change with the weather or time, once I love, I love so deeply that is it." he stated "You of all people know this, MY fated one." he shows his hand because if he is too hidden with his emotions he might misunderstand his thoughts, there can be no doubt with his forward words, and yes his cheeks burn. "I will love you in as many lifetimes as you will have me A-Ling."

Send a symbol for my muse to tell yours whether or not they would ... ☢ Kill someone close to them for the greater good
“I...”he gave a pause to consider it and bit his lower lip."That would truly depend on the situation." he stated finally, resolutely. "If they had fallen so far beyond the reach of morality that they could not be brought back, could not see reason and could not bring themselves to allow someone to help them back on the righteous path..." he dipped his head barely perceptively "I would." he lifted his chin. "If they were not a deviant, were not a monster, if there was even one shred of good in them left, I wouldn't. I do not believe in black and white, I do not feel that there IS a greater good, I think there is a balance and we do what we can to maintain it." lilac grey eyes rose "To much has been done in the name of the Greater Good which was only to further self agenda. To many people use it as an excuse to be terrible themselves."
