âTeach me how to fight- to defend myself.â Tessa asked. âIâŠI donât wanna be helpless.â
How to fight? Certainly, he could do that, but he wasnât sure if he should. When in combat, he tended to slip into the mindset of the soldier, something he hated, but⊠perhaps acting in a teaching role would be better. âAlright. When would you like to start?âÂ
âWhenever you have time we could meet in the training room.â Tessa suggests. She gave him a rare smile, âThanks for this. I know you donât owe me anything.â
hawkeye manages to be a fun loving upbeat superhero movie about a stressed dad and his 20 something outgoing daughter during the holiday season WHILE also reminding views at home that ptsd is a serious problem in vets and after we loose our loved ones, that people can grow and change and become better, that deaf people exist and deserve to be communicated with and understood, and that dogs needs to be walked.

"I will never turn my back on people who need me."
Tessa gave him a rare smile, reaching gently for his hand. âAnd thatâs what I admire most about you Pete. Youâre a good person and thatâs a rare thing in this world.â
He smiled back at her and blushed. He wasn't used to compliments, usually he just got teased by the school bullies, it felt good to hear something nice.
"I try, I want to be someone my uncle would have been proud of. He always taught me that if you can, you should help others."
âHe died recently didnt he?â Tessa asked adjusting her backpack. âI know it doesnât help any but Iâm sorryâŠthat it doesnât get easier.â
Peter looked down, he hated to think about it. He hated to relive the moment in his head.
He remembered pushing through the crowd and seeing his uncle struggling to even take a breathe. He could see the moment flash in his head of his uncle taking his hand in his and watching him take his last breathe.
"Yeah he did." Peter answered, holding back tears. "...it was a car jacker, I guess my uncle wouldn't give up the car willingly or maybe the guy didn't want a witness to his crime. I'm not really sure what exactly happened, all I know is I found him dead on the street and he had been shot."
Tessa tucked a bit of her dark hair behind her ear, âIâm sorryâŠI didnât mean to bring up those memories. Sounds like it was hard.â
She leaned against her locker. At least Peter remembered his family. âCome on. Maybe a walk will help, or we could grab sodas or go to the docks?â
"Yeah...it was." He answered his voice getting choked up. He wiped a few years from his eyes that he couldnt help but let shead. "He was the type of man that i aspire to be. He would want me to be happy though, so I try to not to get to caught up in what happened and move forward."
He forced a smile then rubbed the back up his neck.
"I can go for some soda, maybe we could get some pizza and then walk to the docks."
Tessa gave him a moment, tactfully pretending to ignore his tears. She smiled and led the way, walking from school to the bodega she knew. She didnât wanna go back to her foster home anyway.
âIs this a date, Pete?â Tessa teased him, gently elbowing him.
He walked with her to the bodega and insisted on paying for soda and her small pizza slice. He picked out some chips to go with their food too.
He blushed and his cheeks turned red when she asked if it was a date. He had a crush on her for the longest time, but standing in the middle of a Bodega wasnt how he wanted to confess how he felt for her. He wanted to do it in a romantic setting with a cute gesture planned out. Part of him feared confessing how he felt though. If she didn't feel the same way could it ruin their friendship?
He decided to laugh at her comment and hug her. Then he changed the subject.
"You know your probably my oldest friend." He told her. "I mean we literally met in the sand box at PS 654. Remember? That kid, Brady, tried to take your lunch money. So I tried to beat him up with some Jackie Chan move I saw on TV, but I missed him. So instead he knocked me out and gave me a black eye." Peter laughed. "The next day, you came and sat at lunch with me and asked if I was okay. We ended up just talking the whole lunch period and every lunch after. You really mean alot to me and I'm glad I have you around."
â I appreciated it. I meanâŠI was new and just lost my parents. New York feels a lot bigger than Montana and I was so alone. When you stood up for me IâŠit felt like I wasnât alone anymore.â Tessa says quietly, sipping her soda afterword to avoid rambling on like she had been.
Tessa found them a park bench to sit on. âItâs like you said. You donât turn your back on people who need you.â
He smiled then nodded. "I will always be there for you, Tessa. I won't let anyone bother you, just ask and I will help you anyway I can." He took a bite of his pizza then a sip of his soda. "How's things been going at the foster home? Anyone been giving you trouble lately?"
âTheyâre one of the better families.â Tessa admits. They havenât locked her in her room or yelled at her at how grateful she should be. They even helped her fill out college applications. âBut theyâre older. I think theyâll be ready to have one less kid around. Retire.â
Tessa finishes up her pizza. âI was approached by a couple recruiters last week. They want me to go to school in CanadaâŠtheyâll pay for me to be a doctor in exchange for a few years in their facility.â
"I'm glad they are treating you better than the other familes. I hated to see those other families treat you like crap and lock you up. It was just disgusting!" Peter remarked. "If this new couple does put you out and you need a place to stay, your welcome at my place for awhile. My couch is pretty comfy and Aunt May adores you."
He listened as she talked about her future plans and almost choked on his food out of shock when she mentioned going to Canada.
"Canada?" He questioned, worry in his voice. "Why would you want to go all the way over there? I'm sure you could get a scholarship or something here or at least in the country. Plus if you move to Canada we wouldn't be able to hang out like this anymore. Do you need better grades to get into colleges here? I can help you study or help you look for scholarships, even help you find internships."
âPeter, if I wasnât in the foster system I would have graduated high school at fourteen.â Tessa reminded him. She rarely bragged about her genius, mostly cause her peers often shamed her for being to brainy.
âItâs hard to get into med school, and being a doctor is my dream.â Tessa says, crumpling her pop can. âIâm scared if I donât take this opportunity iâll be stuck in New York my whole life.â
Tessa had the card they gave her, but she didnât show Peter. HYDRA, they called themselves. Government research, highly classified.
âIâll take up your offer for staying over, and donât worry. I havenât made a decision yet. Itâs a lot to take in.â

BLACK WIDOW ( SENTENCE STARTERS )
How long do we have?
You remember when I told you that one day weâd have that big adventure?
Go wait in the car.
Where are we going?
Pain only makes you stronger, remember?
Donât touch (pronoun)!
Youâre gonna take care of each other.
Youâre embarrassing yourself. It looks desperate.
I lived a lot of lives before I met you.
What did I do?
Youâre in my bed.
Iâm actually better on my own.
People who have friends donât call me.
Whatâs all this junk?
Iâm a better shot when Iâm pissed off.
I know youâre out there.
Are we gonna talk like grown-ups?
I came here because I thought you wouldnât.
Weâre not really talking right now.
And you checked the body? Confirmed the kill?
Iâve got you.
Where are my keys?
Okay, any time now, please.
I love the part where I almost bled to death.
The truth rarely makes sense when you omit key details.
Where did you think I was all this time?
I was trying to be more than just a trained killer.
Youâre fully conscious, but you donât know what part is you.
Is that all there is left?
What is your story?
Youâre going to give me some big hero speech, I can feel it.
Iâve never had control over my own life before, and now I do.
Iâll make it up to you.
Just donât make a scene.
Get me closer.
This would be a cool way to die.
You cannot kill a fox that swift.
So. Are we there yet?
Letâs have a drink.
If you got soft, it wasnât on my watch.
I didnât say anything. Thatâs not fair.
We played our roles to perfection.
The best part of my life was fake and you never told me.
I came in here because I didnât want to talk.
Itâs best not to look into the past.
Why are you doing this?
Tell me, how did you keep your heart?
I thought I was being brave.
I only have one ear-piece set.
Is the safety on?
You seem desperate to impress me.
We need to go back.
I know youâre still in there, and Iâm not gonna leave you.
Donât do it.
This was fun.
It was real to me, too.
I am clearly injured.
Go on, say it. I want to hear it.
Youâre not supposed to be bothering me on my holiday time.
Iâve got your next target.
Send these in for RP!

âIâll be gentle when I know the man who broke into my clinic wonât kill me.â Tessa retorts. âSit down and Iâll grab my suture equipmentâŠand lidocaine.â
She grabbed her stuff and went to clean his wound if he would let her, âCan I ask how you got in this mess.â
Jason snorted. âFair enough.â He leaned his weight on his hands behind his back, allowing the other access to the nasty wound, gaze following the movement of her hands attentively.Â
Teeth clenched, he tried his best not to flinch at the burn. âAh, you know, the usual⊠couple mob enforcers, few bad jokes, me showing up with my fists to a knife-fight.â He tried to shrug, only to groan as the movement pulled at his wound. At least she didnât seem to recognise him. Nice for a change.
âWell, you can count on a certain level of discretion.â Tessa said. âYouâre not the first vigilante iâve stitched up.â
She numbed the area before beginning to stitch. Tessa went into a certain zone when she worked on a patient, delicately but with a steady precise hand. âThis will heal alrightâŠIâm Dr Myles, by the way.â
The Army of Poland employed a brown bear as part of an artillery team in the Second World War. His name was Wojtek (pronounced "voytek") and he worked in the 22nd Artillery Company.
In spring of 1942, after the Soviet invasion of Poland in 1939, thousands of Polish citizens and elements of the Polish military were deported from Soviet territory. They journeyed through Iran to British Palestine.
Along the way, they encountered an Iranian boy with an orphaned bear cub. According to the boy, the cub's mother had been killed by hunters. The teenage neice of a Polish general convinced an officer to buy the bear cub, which they nursed back to health and eventually made their mascot.
The bear was trained to perform a military salute, cuddle with soldiers on cold nights, and even march with them by standing on his back legs. He copied the soldiers in every way, even attempting to smoke cigarettes (he usually just ate them).
When the Polish army finally reunited with allied forces, they were assigned to join the invasion of Italy alongside the British 8th Army. However, the transport ships banned all pets and mascot animals.
The Poles refused to leave Wojtek, and got around the rule by drafting the bear into the army as a legally recognized soldier. He had his own personal records files, his own paycheck, his own dogtag ID number, and even held the rank of Private.
It wasn't symbolic, either. Private Wojtek actually participated in combat at the Battle of Monte Casino by carrying 100-pound crates full of artillery shells. It was a job that normal required four men, but Wojtek did it alone and perfectly, never dropping a single shell. His actions kept the artillery barrage well supplied until Allied forces finally seized the fortified mountaintop from Nazi paratroopers.
In recognition of his excellent performance, Private Wojtek was promoted to Corporal Wojtek and the 22nd Artillery Company made their flag the image of a bear lifting an artillery shell. They still use that flag today.
After the war, Corporal Wojtek retired to the Edinburgh Zoo in Scotland, where he was frequently visited by fellow Polish veterans, who game him cigarettes just like old times. He enjoyed a long and happy life, weighing over 1,000 pounds as any successful brown bear should. There are several memorials in his honor, both in Poland and Scotland.
I want to meet the legendary balls-to-the-wall WW2 Veteran who first said "LÄte PrĂvÄtÉ BĂ«ÂȘr McBĂšÄ rfÊçe CĂĄrĆĂœ TÄ§Ä FĂ»ckĂnÄ ĂxplĂžsivÄs"
Imagine being a private, and getting transfered into this unit. Only to learn the Bear Outranks you.

Peggy always managed to get herself into the middle of the chaos surrounding HYDRA and itâs downfall. Steveâs victory over Red Skull, and his subsequent sacrifice, pulled the strings into the SSRâs favor. All that was left was to tie up the loose ends. This was one of the last bases that they knew of. Undoubtedly, someone would reveal the location of one or two more bases, but this was nearing the end of this chapter of Peggyâs life, she could feel it in the air.
Moving with the other Howling Commandos, while allowing the other soldiers to continue the arrests, they moved down toward the cells. They needed to get the victims of this mess out of there before any momentous decisions were made about the base. Get them medical help if they needed it.
A short gunfight with a guard or two on their way down, and they were the victors. Peggy was good with a gun, after all, and this was war. She picked up a skeleton key off one of the men, and down they went. The guards down here were not interested in fighting, appeared to be more scientist than soldier. That wasnât good. She had seen bases like this before, the effects were often gruesome. Most of the cells were empty in the walk from the main door. But, eventually, they found one with someone hiding in the back. This was Poland, so Polish would be the most expected language. She wished she was more fluent, although her reading skills were there, her spoken Polish left something to be desired, but she supposed it would have to do. She was the closest thing to a polyglot they had currently.  âWeâre here to help,â she said in Polish... at least, thatâs what she hoped she said. With that, she went to the door, using the skeleton key to unlock it. She pushed it open then slowly stepped inside.  âMy name is Peggy Carter.â At least she knew that sentence was correct.
Tessa sat in terror until the gunfire stopped, and footsteps approached. She was worried Hydra had won. But instead of German, she heard poorly pronounced Polish.
She walked slowly over to the bars as the door was opened. They were British! âI speak some English.â Tessa said hesitantly.
She was a small woman, barely breaking five foot. Captivity had made her thin and gaunt, with tangled dark hair, decorated with scattered greys.
Tessa stood stunned, still not fully believing her nightmare was over. âYouâre here to help?â
