Okay but the doubt is kinda driving me bonkers - when you read (mostly past tense, ideally, as in childhood memory) comics featuring Donald Duck, you do NOT imagine him with the same voice as in the cartoons... right?! In comic form, Donald just sounds like a regular snarky middle aged man?! That's just a fact?!
