To: Helix Public Radio From: A concerned mother I recently turned my child into the Helix Research Facility. They haven’t given me any updates and I’m beginning to grow concerned. I didn’t want to file an official complaint, but one can only take so much. I am yet to receive my voucher for Buster’s and I must say I’m disappointed. I was expecting more from our fine city. Everyone was. But one can only do so much. Thank you for your service to our community.

We understand your concern, thank you for your inquiry, and apologize for the time it has taken to address this issue. It appears that while we have been disposing of certain biohazardous waste surrendered by you and other citizens the vouchers got lost in the mail. We have left surgery byproducts in every corner in hopes to lure them out but have had no luck. The proper sacrifices have been sent to the mailman and we may expect results within 3-5 business days but there is no certainty. There is never any certainty. Thank you for your patience.

It’s getting dark now. It gets harder to tell the surface of the water from the empty fields. Movement catches your eye. Then you see him. His golden eyes stare into your soul. You try to decipher his shape but his dark form melts into the night. He blinks at you from the side of the road, and then he’s gone. There’s something in the water.
